philo426 Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Here is the body after I cut the roof off.
philo426 Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 I primered the engine, body and hood today.i may shoot a coat of flat white to brighten the red paint.
philo426 Posted April 1, 2012 Author Posted April 1, 2012 Here is the body after its first coat.I plan to airbrush 5 coats, let it cure for a week and polish it out to 12000 grit. Then i will airbrush a thin coat to covers the areas where I burnt through(this always happens when I polish a kit). Then I will clear coat it with Future if it is not glossy enough.
philo426 Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 Here is the body and hood after 5 coats. Now they will cure for a week until it is time to polish it out!

philo426 Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Thanks!THe 400 sure is large !My uncle had a blue '68 Coupe that really screamed with the 400!
philo426 Posted April 5, 2012 Author Posted April 5, 2012 painted the exhaust and chassis and installed the engine and driveshaft.I like the complicated Walker exhaust system.
george 53 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Not to be picky Phil, but the exhast pipes are on the opposite sides of where they should be. They should run under the driveshaft hump, alongside the the driveshaft. Still a good lookin job so far, keep it up!!!!
philo426 Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 painted and assembled the interior. I like the realistic finish!
philo426 Posted April 7, 2012 Author Posted April 7, 2012 i decided to paint the firewall and radiator bulkhead body color instead of semi-gloss black..More eye catching!
