Revell '68 Firebird

I plan to turn this coupe into a convertible for a commission build.

Here is the coupe body before i cut off the roof.

I primered the engine, body and hood today.i may shoot a coat of flat white to brighten the red paint.

Here is the body after its first coat.I plan to airbrush 5 coats,let it cure for a week and polish it out to 12000 grit.Then i will airbrush a thin coat to covers the areas where I burnt through(this always happens when I polish a kit).Then I will clear coat it with Future if it is not glossy enough.

Here is the body and hood after 5 coats.Now they will cure for a week until it is time to polish it out!

Looking good. It looks great as a convertible. Jeurgens(sp?) did one a while back in almost the same color.

painted the exhaust and chassis and installed the engine and driveshaft.I like the complicated Walker exhaust system.

Not to be picky Phil, but the exhast pipes are on the opposite sides of where they should be. They should run under the driveshaft hump, alongside the the driveshaft. Still a good lookin job so far, keep it up!!!!

i decided to paint the firewall and radiator bulkhead body color instead of semi-gloss black..More eye catching!

Thanks!it is a well engineered kit and everything fits fine.The real test will come when I mate the interior and chassis to the body.
