martinfan5 Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) Here is the new redesigned Dodge Viper http://www.topgear.c...york-2012-04-04 Edited April 4, 2012 by martinfan5
Harry P. Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I like it. A bit different but still has it's "Viperishness" intact. I really like the back view, very cool.
martinfan5 Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 Harry, I am with you half way, I like it, but I dont either, and its not that I hate it, just need to get used to I guess, but it still has the old Viper lines in it.
Joe Handley Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 I love it, they kept the styling close enough to the last two gens so that it screams VIPER!!!!!!!, yet is more evolved in appearance. Wonder if it still has some evil tendancies too though.......
Harry P. Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Here's the best angle: BTW... I hear it's not a "Dodge" Viper anymore. Chrysler is starting a new "SRT" brand.
Joe Handley Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) You're right Harry, that does look gooooooooood! I hope it will be available in styrene and lexan soon. Edited April 4, 2012 by Joe Handley
martinfan5 Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 I like the rear too, the more I look at it, the more I am really starting to like it more here are a few more pics
Harry P. Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 If only they made a car that looks like that, that the average person could actually afford to buy!
martinfan5 Posted April 4, 2012 Author Posted April 4, 2012 (edited) If only they made a car that looks like that, that the average person could actually afford to buy! Wouldn't that be nice ?, I know the lighting is in play here, but is it painted a red or a burgundy?, or something in the middle, either way I like the shade whatever it is, now thats shiny Virgil, I still like the original Viper too, but I never really liked the coupe, it just looked funny to me, but not this one. Least the kept a lot of the original Viper lines in this new one, and mix them with the new lines Edited April 4, 2012 by martinfan5
crazyjim Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Maybe it's new mood paint. I'm going out tomorrow to buy 2 or 3 of them. One each in a different color.
1320wayne Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 It looks good. That front end appears to have some later model Ferrari styling cues adapted into it.
Harry P. Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 Is it the Dodge Viper or the SRT Viper ? , I have heard that SRT will become its own little brand Did you read the previous posts???
Dragline Posted April 4, 2012 Posted April 4, 2012 A PROPER U.S. Supercar IMHO. Every angle is excellent and it's the first redesign that I like of this car. I loved the original when it debuted and this is the next step. The front has a tad Ferarri in it [not a bad thing], the rear is finally proper and sweet looking. The V10 still has that odd throat to it. 8 cylinders have a certain tempo that most of us are used to and a V10 seems strange [still]. But the exhaust throat is the best I've heard from a V10 [being on Vid and not in person]. I like it better than a Vette and i'm a Chevy guy mostly [Fords are great as well, I'm not one of those]. But I still like the exhaust note from a co-workers 2012 GT500 better. I got to drive that one so maybe I'm prejudiced. Still, all in all, A Grand Slam in my eyes. Very nice. Bob
Joe Handley Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Good to hear others saw a little Ferarri in it, thought I had been imagining things.
Eshaver Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Wait uh minute , I heard Chrysler had discontinued Vipers and wern't going to make any more . So Mopar guys , please set me straight on dis ................. Ed Shaver
Joe Handley Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 They did for a couple years because they had gone bankrupt, I think Cerberus or Mercedes may have wanted it dead too.
Scuderia Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 headlights are a lil too Vette for my liking, but the fact that it looks like the late90's GTS is much better than the last design. If it were in kit form, i'd actually buy it. FWIW it's also gonna be added to Forza Motorsport 4 soon, I saw (for any of you Xbox folks)
turn1wonder Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 Last I heard SRT brand is on it's own, also Hummer, they are no longer part of Chrysler. Bob
Longbox55 Posted April 5, 2012 Posted April 5, 2012 SRT is alive and well, and still part of Chrysler. http://www.drivesrt.com/ BTW, Hummer was part of GM.
