Bill & Tam - codyp2000 The canned response (didn't even change 'card' to 'kit') indicates they are clueless about what they are selling. If they are too lazy to research the market price of the products they are selling, they don't belong on eBay. Edited April 10, 2012 by Rob Hall
camaroman Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 At $6 to $11 for Priority Mail Shipping, How much is he actually making on the kit? And yes the price is higher than what I would sell or buy it for, even considering the "free" shipping. Like anything else, do your homework, and you will not overpay. Ron, I used your post to illustrate a new phenom at ebay. They now fee the seller on shipping, so many have started doing "free shipping" and raised their prices too avoid this ridiculous fee...
jbwelda Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 dr cranky has got it right: people are fishing. nothing wrong with fishing...and you might be surprised what someone out in the middle of nowhere might be willing to pay to get it to his door versus us here who can just go down to the LHS.
mbl4321 Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 To anyone who thinks the price is too high - don't purchase it. The buyer determines price, not the seller. Not sure why anybody allows their panties to get in a know about what price someone has on something. Just don't buy it. Either someone will find the price is acceptable and buy it, or no one will and he will likely have to lower what he's asking.

Though you are completely correct, the concern is that somebody who is easily duped will get scammed. We take it as an insult and makes us protective of our fellow modelers who are vulnerable to vultures. Anybody whose beloved parents are elderly will know what I mean.
bill_rules Posted April 10, 2012 Posted April 10, 2012 So it is perfectly acceptable to call someone out who might potentially rip someone off, but once the act is committed, you just have to sit back, shut your mouth and take your lumps. Strange rules around here.

Sounds like something that seller would say, trying to justify trying to rip people off, I mean the price of the kit.
niteowl7710 Posted April 11, 2012 Posted April 11, 2012 The end joke here is that Lindberg, presuming they can concoct another "warehouse fire", is supposed to reissue this kit this summer. Now as a few people have mentioned, my LHS still has one of the 2nd issue gray car on the box version languishing on the shelf. But then again he also has several past issues of things Revell has recently decided to reissue as well, so that's not a direct indication of the popularity of that '66 Chevelle I suppose.
