outlaw105 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 Looks good Tyrone, and nice job on the carbon decals. Do you clear them?
tyrone Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 Thanks alot fellas, I made up some headers from styrene tube, then I made eight 90 degree elbows, to slide up inside the tubes, I still need to clean them up, add some bracing, drill out the tips, and drill for the sensors, then I'll hit them with different shades of alclad... thanks for looking and comments welcome...
tyrone Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 here's how they look mocked up with the tips...
Prostreet Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 Nice work on the headers Tyrone, After doing my chute stuff in 1/16th i have a new found respect for the detail you guys do in 1/25th.
comp1839 Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 gotta go with that joe! your work in 1/16 is amazing. tyrone's in 1/25 is just unbelievable!!!!!! just incredible tyrone!
tyrone Posted September 3, 2012 Author Posted September 3, 2012 (edited) Thanks fellas, I've got them cleaned up, drilled my holes, and added some alclad.. I also added some carbon fiber pieces to both sides on the chassis in front of the rack and pinion to mounts electronics, and stuff on... thanks for looking in and comments welcome... Prostreet Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 Looking good Tyrone, What color alclad is that?
vintagedragfan Posted September 4, 2012 Posted September 4, 2012 oh man! beautiful work as usual Tyrone! any ideas on the paint scheme yet??
tyrone Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 Looking good Tyrone, What color alclad is that? Thanks Joe, I started out with some gloss black. and then sprayed on some chrome alclad, then I misted on some copper and burnt metal metalizer paint to try and simulate some heat being run through them. I need to invest in a good air brush..but I'm pleased with it, still trying to get the hang of using this Alclad..
tyrone Posted September 4, 2012 Author Posted September 4, 2012 oh man! beautiful work as usual Tyrone! any ideas on the paint scheme yet?? Thanks Bill.. I've been playing around with some ideas...I have my eyes on a Tom Mcewen funny car that ends today on ebay.. I need it for the decal sheet.. I kinda want to go that route, using those decals and a nice clean paint job... but I kinda want to throw something wild at it too... can't find any good pics on the web to give me any ideas though.....

John Teresi Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Tyrone.......that would be a great choice for paint........Classic!!!!!!
W-409 Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Great job! Absolutely beautiful work with the engine. I've always liked '57 Chevy ProMods, especially when they are built nicely (in 1:1 or smaller scale). Here's Finnish '57 Chevy Pro Mod, just for inspiration.
vintagedragfan Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 sweet! very traditional, I figured you would go with some wild multi color scheme with some kind of graphics, I guess I was way off on that one! lol
TedsModeling Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 That red 1:1 looks ALMOST as good as Tyrone's!
tyrone Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 Thanks for all the nice comments fellas.. really appreciate it... I've spent the whole day sanding on this bad boy.. I got a coat of primer on to see where I am.. still a few spots to work on... it's pretty smooth though... thanks for looking and comments welcome..
