futurattraction Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Tyrone, That definitely doesn't look like the first time you've scratched a full chassis... I think you've been sandbaggin' on us!!!
eviltwincustoms Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Looking pretty darn good if I do say so myself! You are kicking some butt and taking names Tyrone... keep up the great work.
gasser59 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) Chassis rookie??? It wouldn't appear so. It's looking great and you're really progressing right along on this. Edited April 15, 2012 by gasser59
stump Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Tyrone, this build is looking rock solid mate, great chassis execution..
Romell R Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 on point Bruh..... I think you can offically call yourself a chassis builder now.
W-409 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Tyrone, you have inspired me to take '57 Chevy Bel Air to the bench. Actually all I have, is the body, so I have a question: What did you use for the frame? I have some styrene tubing, but I'm not sure if it's strong enough...
tyrone Posted April 15, 2012 Author Posted April 15, 2012 (edited) thanks guys for all the nice words.. keeps me pumped and motivated,,, .. I'm really happy/suprised at how this chassis has turned out to be honest.. I did not know it be this much fun... I'ts not hard to get it right when you've got all this talent around you.... this chassis has some borowed ideas from all of your builds and a few chassis websites..... and thanks to Clay for sending me those chassis diagrams.... more updates hopefully a little later today doing yard work right now... ClayK Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 You're doing great man! Keep it up. I love building chassis. Probably why I have so many started projects laying around here. You're off to a great start. As far as your tail being narrow, believe me. It's much better to have it narrow than too wide or you'd never get a set of slicks in there.
Mooneyzs Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Tyrone....you are just killing this build man. the chassis is looking great! Looking forward to your next update.
gasser59 Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Skip the yard work, you'll just have to do it again next week. Get back to the bench. Awesome work Tyrone.
GoatGuy Posted April 15, 2012 Posted April 15, 2012 Great job so far. I've got to try a Pro Mod once I get these two funny cars and two pro stocks done.

stump Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 Most EXCELLENT ! Tyrone, that looks spectacular, and the last shot with the body......made me go weak at the knees......Awesome mate.
gasser59 Posted April 16, 2012 Posted April 16, 2012 I've been weak kneed from when I saw the body and just thinking how its gonna look once Tyrone does his magic.

tyrone Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 (edited) thanks everybody... Robert you are right.. I'm having a blast... well I got the fire wall roughed in I'ts made up of 6 pieces of styrene, I used flash cards to make and test fit my templates before cutting them out... still a liitle work to do, like filling in the gaps, making the top section and I'm thinking about adding some bead work so they don't look so plain... thanks for looking and comments welcome... here's the templates I made.. and the first 2 mid plates I made before getting it right...lol....
