The Creative Explorer Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I stumbled upon this beauty: I like it
Joe Handley Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 That's pretty wild, and slightly Chevy looking........
cobraman Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Looks like a lot of glass on that baby. I like it too.
Harry P. Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Where did you find that? What's the story behind it?
Scale-Master Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I always thought this one looked more "Chevy"
The Creative Explorer Posted April 19, 2012 Author Posted April 19, 2012 Where did you find that? What's the story behind it? I have no idea what the story is, but I jammed in some terms for a google search for the Car ID game, and in between the results, this appeared. And I really liked it. I'm sorry there is no more to it hahaha
Scale-Master Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 (edited) The OP's picture is correctly identified as the Bertone Mustang (1965). Here is a link about it: http://www.carstylin...5_ford_mustang/ The one I posted is the Allegro Roadster made from the Allegro Coupe. Edited April 19, 2012 by Scale-Master
Brizio Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 Also here you can find some story and a few different pics. http://sarin.lunarpages.com/~musta4/mustangtrivia/bertonemustang.htm
elan Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 I just love '60 Italian styling, they did a fantastic job on the Mustang. Looks like a Ferrari!
Art Anderson Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Where did you find that? What's the story behind it? The Bertone Mustang 2+2 was commissioned by Automobile Quarterly Magazine (OK, so it's a hard back, but still a quarterly publication) in 1965. Made the rounds of a lot of car shows back then, but at last I heard, it has disappeared from view, nobody seems to know what became of it. Art
Joe Handley Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 Yea, I was thinking '70.5 Camaro in the nose and '68-'69 AMX from the cowl back.Yea, I was thinking '70.5 Camaro in the nose and '68-'69 AMX from the cowl back.

Joe Handley Posted April 20, 2012 Posted April 20, 2012 That was weird, wonder why it double posted like that.
Junkman Posted April 21, 2012 Posted April 21, 2012 (edited) Bertone, like other Italian coachbuilders, loved to tinker with American running gear. Here is his take on the '63 Corvette, called the Rondine: Edited April 21, 2012 by Junkman

Art So, it probably sits somewhere in a dusty garage waiting to be (re)discovered, kind intrueging.
