Psychographic
Another entry for a cartoon car contest. I start this build with not a Davey kit, but a Digger kit. Lets cut Diggers head up a bit.I started by sectioning the helmet to skull size and lose the brim on it. I also cut his jaw of and extended it with some rod. This gave me the mouth shape I wanted. Now he needs a chin, one cartoon chin coming up! Next step, cut out the nose and remove the eyes and Digger becomes a skull. A comparison shot Edited April 21, 2012 by Psychographic

Psychographic
The head is about the size of a billiard ball. Time to work on the bike. A new front end and a wide tire on the back. Oh the heck with it, lets build a new frame!

Junkman
Old chappie, you are a lunatic quite to my taste. I say, we need more of us. Your skill in modifying those kits is second to none, Sir. You obviously have a lot of fun there, it oozes out of every pore of your work, and I like that. Hey, Doc, watch this thread closely! There is a lot to be learned, still. Gosh, this feels like hot-rodding Michelangelo. Edited April 22, 2012 by Junkman
Psychographic
Thanks guys. More progress, Davey finally makes his appearance. I wanted him to sit on the bike with bent knees, so out came the razor knife and styrene. One leg done. Now he fits much better. Started on a new back wheel and tire. Psychographic
I made a primary, tranny, and started on the sprockets for the chain. I also took the stock exhaust and made two pipes out of it. Then I cut the heck out of the tank and came up with this shape for it. Psychographic
I promised the Junkman I would "Purty him up a bit", so off to the dentist. Step one, make a pattern of the mouth opening, Step two, draw the teeth, Step three, Cut the teeth Step four, Glue the gum side of each tooth to 1/16" rod. This allows you to mount the teeth in rows, upper and lower. It also allows for flex to match the curves of the mouth opening. The top row is done. Step 5, glue them to the skull, Step six, add a tongue. See Junkman, you're a handsome devil after all. Just playin' Davey decided to steal Diggers rod for the night. But in his heart, he's a biker and the cage will be replaced by his trusty scoot. Edited April 22, 2012 by Psychographic

Psychographic
I made a suicide shifter with a piston knob, finished the sprockets and chain, hand controls, and added the custom intake that goes through the tank up to two T'rantula scoops. The front tire is stock, I made new spokes to match the back wheel. The headlight is also stock. Psychographic
Both arms needed to have the joints at the shoulder and elbow redone. I also had to modify both hands to fit the bars and shifter. I also mad a bunch of spikes, half for Davey and half to sacrifice to the plastic trolls that live under my desk and steal every important part that falls down there. bobthehobbyguy
Looking good. Great scratch building. Love the subject. By the way its not trolls under your desk. I've convinced it a worm hole to another dimension. How else can I explain dropping a white part on a dark surface and not finding it. Another modeler in that dimension is using those parts. bobthehobbyguy
