wcbrown
really good chance this could become a trans-kit using the revell imsa mustangs, trans-am mustangs and camaros chassis. my question is this, would there be an interest? a very well known resin caster would be doing the kits. Scuderia
I would be in. I wish there was a road going version too but i'd be down, that's feisty.

But if you substitute the engine from 1/24 1985 Ford SVO Mustang you'll be well on the way to an accurate road version

wcbrown
here is the version i am doing, the one that raced at mid-ohio. when you really start studying the reference photo's of the car from different races, the changes on the it are unreal. i'll have to get more photo's up soon, i took 2 scale inches out of the nose, 6 scale inches in front of the front wheel wells there just seemed to be too much overhang. i also squared the splitter, it seemed to be leaning downhill. angled the hood riser very steeply. cleaned up aound the hood vents a bit. this had so much primer on it. i started this years ago and it has been sitting, i posted a couple shots of my IMSA Olivetti Olds Cutlass Darin Brassfield drove in 92-93 and some folks were asking me about that.............well one thing lead to another. i had started the merkur with the intentions of having it possibly cast some day. PatRedmond
Consider doing the wingless one as well? http://public.fotki.com/predmond/assorted_race_cars/road_race_cars-1/roush-stroh-light-i/#media
wcbrown
Consider doing the wingless one as well? http://public.fotki....-light-i/#media YEP!! we (un-named caster ) are going to do that. though not totally correct, but it would still work for trans-am. also working on various "liveries"
kitbash1
The first one I'd build is this Ron Fellows MacKenzie Trans AM Merkur. The second one would be the black Budget car, also a T/A car but with the second rear wing. Edited April 27, 2012 by kitbash1
Cali Bear
Oh, abso-bleeping-lutely, I'm in! I missed the opportunity to build the PennGwen transkit, so having another chance to put together an IMSA Merkur is fantastic. Keep it under a C-note, and I'll probably order at least two of them. Cali Bear
Hey folks, has there been any movement on producing the Merkur XR4Ti and Oldsmobile Cutlass transkits for the Revellogram Camaro & Mustang IMSA/TransAm models? (And BTW, does anyone know where to find the Stroh's Mercury Cougar XR7 resin body for the Mustang kit?) I'm still up for a pair of Merkurs, if they're out there. Deano
I would say after two years of no news there is probably nothing happening.
rsxse240
I don't build race cars, and I very rarely deal with resin kits, but I have a very soft spot for the Sierras/XR4 cars. I have the Tamiya Sierra XR4Ti AND the Eggenberger Texaco Sierra RS500 GR.A. I want to get several more of each kit so I can build several different variations, and now, I guess I'll have to buy some of those IMSA mustangs too. If these are not a gozzilion dollars, I'd be in for one or two.
