Killer job. You're one of the few modelers of this kit that I've seen put in an accurate red interior and open the air vents on the nose. I wonder, though, if the white steering wheel rim wouldn't indicate that it should have banjo steering wheel spokes?

Thanks Skip,

I found very little reference and what I did find was not color. As for the steering wheel I think it should be the banjo style but I didn't want to rob one from a Fujimi kit.

I've never seen it done with the red, very interesting! I live about an hour away from James Dean's home town of Fairmount, Indiana. Nice job on the model Russell, I love it!

I'm closer than Ron to Fairmount, it's only 6 miles up the road... I've seen many replicas of this car in scale and in 1:1 and about half have the red body stripes. Looking at some vintage pics, I see that yours is accurate. Such a good looking car!!!.
