Dirt Sedan

Just a little something to pass the time while working on the show truck. 32 Ford Sedan, NASCAR rear end, scratch and P Box front axle. I made the cage from .o8o Styrene rod, cup dash and some resin wheels and tires. Still fitting and assembling. I'll need to remove those Bow Ties on the intake! No big hurry, just hav'n fun building a Short Tracker.

James, don't just remove the bowties, remove the intake all together and use the proper intake with correct port spacing. Completely wrong, Hemi head ports are evenly spaced apart, totally different from Chevys which are siamesed .........

Thanks, I have searched and searched for a good intake to keep it carbureted. That's the best I have found.

That is one very cool looking dirt sedan! Very nice clean work.

One other engine tip, spark plugs on Hemi heads are located deep in the head, so the spark plug boots are not seen. So to make it prototypically correct you would drill out the hole on the valve cover approx. 1.5 scale inches and run the lead down into it sinking the boot completely in the hole.

Thanks for the help guys. I searched my stash and came up empty. I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for a proper intake while I keep building. I will also shorten the boots on the wires. J2

You are doing such a nice job on this, nice cage work btw. that you may as well knock it out of the park and go that extra little bit more to make it right. I realize not all auto model builders have knowledge about the 1 to 1s or how they work

Made up a new intake, I think it works much better. Also just about done fabricating and almost ready for some primer. I decided to sand some of the body lines out so as to look more like a fiberglass copy.

Well I got the garden plowed and tilled, cut the grass and a few other honey do's, sooooooooooooooooooo. I took advantage of the warm day and got the paint and decals finished these past couple of days. Still have some details to add, paint the wheels and final assembly.
