Dr. Cranky Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Found this film and fell in love with that green vehicle (can anyone identify it--Ford? Plymouth?). Hope you junk yard lovers will enjoy it too.
Harry P. Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 Kind of creepy and sad, yet cool at the same time. But that dog at the end???!!!
Dr. Cranky Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 What do you want, Harry? Poodles are junkyard guard dogs too, and this one has the teeth to prove it! LOL.
Funkster Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 I would say that the Green truck is a International, late 30's or early 40's. From the badge that I see on the top of the grill.
Tony T Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 (edited) 39 International D2 by the looks of it. (EDIT: Seems it could be 1937 to 1940 by search on Google Images) This one identified as a 1937 This one identified as a 1940 Cool/sad video Edited May 13, 2012 by Tony T
Dr. Cranky Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 Thanks, Terry . . . I love the colors on this build. I might do a 41 Chevy or a 37/38 Ford like that.Tony, too bad there isn't a kit of this . . . perhaps a diecast?
Junkman Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 It's getting scary, Doctor. The Atomic rats are currenty my prime inspiraton for playing slide guitar.
Tony T Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 38/39 Ford trucks have a similar styling to the cab and hood, but the grille is completely different... 1939 Ford
Harry P. Posted May 13, 2012 Posted May 13, 2012 What do you want, Harry? Poodles are junkyard guard dogs too, and this one has the teeth to prove it! LOL. Somehow I've never thought of a poodle as "junkyard dog" material!
Dr. Cranky Posted May 13, 2012 Author Posted May 13, 2012 I think that would make a great Hollywood movie, a gang of enraged junkyard Poodles . . . and you can train them to rob a bank.
espo Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Standard Poodles are like their smaller cousins that you maybe used to seeing, but they will not hesitate for a minute to bite you if you're in their territory. I knew a girl in high scholl who had one. It scared the you know what out of me, and I had a German Shepard at home.
uncle potts Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Great views, great tunes. Thanks for the nostalgic trip to my younger years.
peter31a Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Jeff, that is one cool truck! I'm guessing it has been hot rodded but maybe with a diesel, going by that DMaxx designation???
1930fordpickup Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 Awesome Video Cranky. The slide guitar was way cool . That old Corn Binder would make a great truck.
crazyjim Posted May 14, 2012 Posted May 14, 2012 If I remember correctly, poodles were originally bred to be extremely nasty, mean dogs.
Dr. Cranky Posted May 15, 2012 Author Posted May 15, 2012 Thanks, Marcus. Jim, like any type of dog, they can be trained (and bred) to be mean. This is how Pitbulls ended up getting banned (the only breed to be banned anywhere in the country) in South Florida. It's not the breed, it's the people breeding them for fighting and other nasty business.
1930fordpickup Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 Poodles are a hunting dog so they say , Just like a Lab,they love the water .
