I think I am going to start on this , came today, its looks to be a really simple kit to build, I want something simple to get me out of this rut I am in

p1-9.jpgthere really is not a lot to this kit, three part trees, one of them is the chrome parts. It does have an engine. I am going to be doing this one in a green color, not sure of the interior color yet, need to do some research first.

Getting some primer on all the main body parts.

I hope mine will turn out as good as yours did, where did you get the wheels from, I like the stock wheels, but I like the look with the wheels you have on yours.

Just be careful with the full windshield. It's pretty thin and easy to snap if you're not careful. Mine snapped while masking for the chrome trim that is molded right into the glass. Otherwise, it's a really nice little model. Have fun with it.

It is a deceptively simple kit. Lots of things to do to make it intersting and since the original cars were sold as build it yourself kits, you can pretty make it yours. Mark Jones has done a couple. Lets see if he will throw a couple up for inspiration. Here is one I did a few years ago. Great fun to build.

I'd still like to see someone do the Lotus from "The Prisoner" TV series. The main external difference from the box art are a yellow nose piece and the slots on the wheels.

Those wheels are available from Replicas & Miniatures of MD. Made to fit the kit tires, there are five wheels with separate lug nuts.

Sure, I'll be glad to share a few from that fun kit.

This is the first one I built. Made new wheels and some other details.

I put a Rotary engine in this one, converted it to LHD and made a Rotus.

This is the most recent one, but it is also the most modified one I have done. Also converted to LHD and used the left over Webers from the Rotus on the Buick V6.

I've got one of those kits and that's always been my plan. The show came on when I was about 12 and I was instantly hooked.

Thanks for the tip! I'm going to order a set.

I am having a hard time figuring out what color to go with on the engine, I have seen them painted red, blue, aluminum , the instructions call for it to be a green, any ideas as what color I should go with?

Ready to paint the body, I am using a black base coat, the green I am going to use is Model Master Emerald green Lacquer, it looks better with a black base coat.

Hey, Brian - any chance you'd have a part number for those wheels? I'm not seeing them in the catalog I have (not that the R & M catalog is the easiest thing to navigate).

Thanks guys, I have not done a lot since the last update, trying to decide what color I want to do the wheels, I was thinking body color, but used all the paint of that color on the body, so maybe white, or kind of thinking black , hmm

One of the cool things about these cars is the freedom to do some eye catching color combos if you are so inclined. Bright or high contrast colored wheels and noses are quite common.
