Danger Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 (edited) This was going to be my entry into the GearZ/Revell contest but I had an issue shrinking my pics and didn't get the entry done before the deadline. Oh well, there is alway next year. I used a combination of copper and transparent red to match the Ford colour Indian Fire Red. Interior is black with wood trim. Done box stock. george 53 Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Uhhhh Adam, Daddy-O, that's a 69 Mach 1, not a 68. But whatever, It's still a NICE lookin ride!!!
Danger Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 D-oh. Stupid fat fingers. Yup, it's should say 69 Mustang. How can I edit the title? Danger
Nick Winter Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Adam go back to the original post, hit edit, then use full editor, I really like the color of this Mustang, makes it different from the rest, see you Wednesday. Nick
Monty Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 I knew that was Indian Fire Red before I even read your caption. That's such a unique color & it really seems to work well on these 'Stangs. Kudos to you for figuring out a way to achieve that color on your own. It complements your clean building style. I keep hoping some enterprising scratchbuilder/caster will come up with a more correct grille for this car. Anybody?
jaydar Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Many are bteathing a sigh of relief you did notenter. Ijt's really nice. joe.

Guest Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 How dare you post pics of a real car and call it a model! Beautiful work!
Harold Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Nice job on the Mustang. I especially like the color. When I was 14, Dad and I went to the Ford dealer in Ortonville to buy a new car. I got to help with the color selecion for a '69 Fairlane wagon. For the Fairlane, the color was called Indian Bronze.
my name is nobody Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 This is a very nice build. clean. and an attractive color scheme. nice work.
Danger Posted May 23, 2012 Author Posted May 23, 2012 Thanks for the compliments. It only took about 4 plastic spoon tests to figure out the colour combination correct. I wish I took a pic of the interior before installing it. The wood grain looked great but it's hard to see on the finished model. Danger
1930fordpickup Posted May 23, 2012 Posted May 23, 2012 Great looking Ford Mustang !! It's hard to beat the 1969 model year .
1zebra3 Posted May 25, 2012 Posted May 25, 2012 Love the color and the car. 69/70 and 71/73 mustangs are my favorite.
Danger Posted July 23, 2012 Author Posted July 23, 2012 Here's a few more shots from the past weekend. I need to re-fix the rear pinstrip decal. The Mustang letters were dry brushed, gas cap is black washed and the pipes are drilled out. This shows a closeup of the side emblem and BMF work.
