For the younger members here I strongly recommend you read-up at least a little bit on Big Willie. He was truly larger than life. What did for the LA community, kids, and Drag Racing is inspirational. He tried to unite people through organized drag racing. Didn't matter race, income, or social status: everybody was a member of the brotherhood. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran and very active with the youth of his day.

We need more people like this man.... RIP Mr. Robinson.th_angel.gif

I have searched for enough info to build a replica of his King Daytona with little luck. I guess I'll have to "fake" what I can't find. RIP Big Willie.

PS, In the opening street racing scene of the movie "Two Lane Blacktop", the Dodge Daytona is Big Willie's car, and he is behind the wheel.

Very sad indeed!!! As a member of the Brotherhood it is a great loss. Big Willie porbably did more to break down barriers than any ten people!!

R.I.P. my brother!!

BTW that means Race In Peace!!
