Sixties Sam
Thanks for all the great compliments, guys! I had planned to paint the standard multi-colored flames, but thought the white would look better with the green. I'm glad I went with the white. The flame mask worked really well. I'll be using more of them! Sam
geetee66
I'm a massive fan of flames and 49 Mercs, so this is right up my boulevard! Glad to see you had success with the flame mask. I bought some of these recently. Nice to know they're worth the dollars. Nice work mate. Diorama photoshoot works well too.

Daniej01
I did the same build with out the flames. It was my first build in 24 years Edited June 7, 2012 by Daniej01
Sixties Sam
I did the same build with out the flames. It was my first build in 24 years Jamie, nice job on your Merc. I've seen that green color on several custom 49 Merc's, and it always looks good. Nice work! Sam.

Dave Pye
Great looking build! One suggestion would be to dull the shine on the figures. Keep the shine to the car! I like the "downtown" look of the photo background, well done.

Sixties Sam
Great looking build! One suggestion would be to dull the shine on the figures. Yeah, those figures are a little glossy. I used gloss enamel, then sprayed them with some Krylon matte clear. It didn't work very well. Adding more coats of clear doesn't help. I need to get some Dullcote. Dave Pye
I use Tamiya flat acrylics. Tamiya offeres a clear flat, as well. The paints are great, self-leveling, matte finish, and back in stock!
