Real Vampires do not sparkle.

And they don't drive vans, either. They ride on trikes. ^_^

Here's the original MPC '33 Chevy Panel Truck kit, for reference:

One weird thing about that Panel... notice the side panels of the hood having those chrome slats on the side? All the '31-33 Chevrolet Panel trucks I've seen have vertical louvres punched into the sides, but not the bright flaps seen on the kit. Were those optional on the commercial vehicles?

I have the issue called Vampire Van planing to do it as a stock era hearse.

I've built one. Part of the problem is the body is really short. even when I extended it to a length that would accept the coffin from the trailer it would still only scale out as a "childs" hearse". Hopefully this works. I haven't tried to post in a long time.

I've also built a couple of pickups from this kit. It provides a basis for a very nice stock cab.

Here's another model I built using the 32 Chevy kit as a starting point. You might have seen this one.

The Vampire Van kit is the same as the Barnabas Collins van from years ago just a knock off of it. I was thinking of using old Model T type parts with it...it may be a bit short but then again maybe the casket is just too long? Ether way it has a few other possible building projects from its parts...its up to the imagination I guess.

Man if AMT or MPC re-released the gangbusters series and redid the tooling for the panel van I thing more people would be happy then with a vampire van.Vampires aren't even thought of as scary or menacing nowadays, just some guy that sparkles in the sun.
