Inspired by Bryan_m's '50 Chev, it made me post mine up!

I built this a few years ago and it was my first attempt at weathering a kit.

Cheers and thanks for looking.

Ray.

Thanks Ron and Mike :) !

Mike, it was trial and error as I built the thing! I used a wire brush to get the worn paint look, dry brushed some brown and silver to get the worn panels and a bit of surface rust look.

The engine was blackwashed with a bit of dry brushing here and there!

I read a few articles on dry brushing which helped, the rest was an experiment

I LIKE it! This is what trucks are for. You did a great job depicting the care worn character of a work-horse.

I noticed, in the last photo, that the crane is absent; is it removeable or was this taken prior to completion?

Oh, by the way, I'll be borrowing some inspiration here for my own "work horse".

Cheers Shardik, thanks for your comments mate ;)

Yep the last pic was before all the stuff went in the back ;)

I have a '99 Sliverado that I want to do the same thing, like a run around parts getter B)

Your most welcome to use the inspiration :D

That's a really good lucking work truck. Was the hoist beam copied from a 1:1? At first I thought the shape wrong, but with the hydraulic support it's perfect! I'm a structural engineer, so forgive me. :)

Hey you made a model of the old truck I used to drive around on my uncle's land img030.jpg

Haha how cool is that, thought there would be something like the one I built over there :) !

Ah cheers Mike, the hoist came from the 'Fujimi' garage and tools set, I drilled a hole in the bed so it could swivel ;)

Sorry for the late response to your querie :o
