Thor Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Hi I found this in my parts box and i thought i could try to build me a Kustom. This is i`ve come up with so far.
rmvw guy Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Nice start, I like the wheels and the wide whites. Purple actually would look good on this, have you decided on a color?
W-409 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Very cool. '59 and '60 El Caminos are great, and they look very good as Custom. This is going to be great build, wheel and tire choice is looking good so far and I like the stance too.
Thor Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks I have thought about painting it pearl white subtle hint of purple and with some teal/purple metallic scallops
Dr. Cranky Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 I like the way it looks as is . . .but I know it is going to look even better when done, so keep it going.

Badluck 13 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Thanks I have thought about painting it pearl white subtle hint of purple and with some teal/purple metallic scallops That sounds like a perfect "shiny" scheme, but I also like the idea that Ron n the Doc are thinking.........
Thor Posted May 31, 2012 Author Posted May 31, 2012 I`ll have to do two of them then But i`ll think i stick with shiny on this one
Assa9 Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Nice start will be watching this one for sureNice start will be watching this one for sure
Ace-Garageguy Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Mo debinately likin' dis one a'ready. Weathered, as in having had a rough life ex-custom-painted truck, or full-tilt-boogie shiny, it's going to look great.
TooOld Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Over the years I've owned six El Caminos , including one '59 and two '60s . However you decide to finish it is fine with me . I love 'em ! BOB .
my80malibu Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 I kind of have a similar story, i bought mine as a glue bomb from another club member.and after stripping it found only the body to be useable. And then While at a Swap meet, A vendor was selling a new kit that had a broken body for $5.00 bucks. Cha Ching! & this is where I am at now. http://public.fotki.com/Gabriel12/gm-projects/002.html#media I hope you like it
Hedgehog Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 (edited) So shiny let it be. I'll keep my popcorn and soda ready for the show Edited June 1, 2012 by Hedgehog
Thor Posted June 1, 2012 Author Posted June 1, 2012 What about doing a split front bumper? I`m also filling the holes over the grill with rounded corners on the front edge of the hood Thinking of adding Bellflower exhaust tips as well
W-409 Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 What about doing a split front bumper? Yes, that would look very good on El Camino. Thinking of adding Bellflower exhaust tips as well Yes, I like Bellflower exhaust pipes, and it would be something different too, not always those Lake Pipes.

Thor Posted June 5, 2012 Author Posted June 5, 2012 Hi Done some more on this. I think i have figured out the front end. Doing a custom interior also on this one
Bartster Posted June 5, 2012 Posted June 5, 2012 Love it with the "plucked" eyebrows! Very cool touch. Interior is very sharp as well. Looking forward to your next move.
Qwit Pushin Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 Looking good!! Love the rounded corners on the hood as well as the wheel/tire combination and overall stance. Keep up the great work!!
Joker Posted June 6, 2012 Posted June 6, 2012 The 58 Impala custom pieces look good in the 59 Thor. The front end is looking clean without the air vents in front.. that's what the grill is for...right ! Keep up the great body work. James aka Joker
