turn1wonder Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 (edited) Danno, that black and white '73 you posted, it's a '72 Polara...I know Bob Edited June 11, 2012 by turn1wonder
cortinanut Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Does anyone make a 64 Pontiac Bonneville 4door wagon to fit the old AMTs???? My mom had one would love to have one to built like it. Boy would I jump on such a kit! We had a much-loved '64 Catalina wagon that is still part of family lore. I have found resin kits for '61 and '63 Bonneville wagons on eBay, but neither strikes me as easy to convert. IIRC both are from R&R.
Edsel-Dan Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 (edited) Kenny Anderson, Blue Oval Resin makes some 4drs. I know the 74 LTD is available I have a 70 Impala 4dr hardtop. Just need the correct green metallic paint to duplicate our old ride. Not sure but I think it was from Ed Fluk DragCity Resin. Last one he had!! Edited June 12, 2012 by Edsel-Dan
Agent G Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Still recovering from that 10k run? That'll take at least a month.................................. G

Junkman Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Kenny Anderson, Blue Oval Resin makes some 4drs. I know the 74 LTD is available It's a 75-78 LTD, no?
Edsel-Dan Posted June 12, 2012 Posted June 12, 2012 Yes it is. That and the 88-91 Crown Police version. $95.oo each though. Full kits, but High $$
martinfan5 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Yes it is. That and the 88-91 Crown Police version. $95.oo each though. Full kits, but High $$ Last time I checked, few weeks ago , it still was not ready yet, and the pic he has posted, the body is not right
kruleworld Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Now if we could only get a 74 Monaco in 1/24th or 25th scale, I got a 1/24 resin body off the CGLFC forum that a guy did himself. it was a slush cast so not very good but still good enough to build the most famous 74 dodge Next i'd like to get a 73 Oldsmobile Delta 4 door.
Edsel-Dan Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I opened the site before posting, and saw a price under both when I checked them. If they are not ready, I would not expect to see a price listed yet. Which one does not look right??
kruleworld Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 one should be able to do a Le Mans 4dr from a GTO,
martinfan5 Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Walter, I think there was a WIP on that one, if I am not mistaken, he used the 78 monaco for it. Dan, the LTD crown vic, I think the roof line is wrong, it looks way to low, its says on the website under the pic, coming soon, all I will say, for $95, it better be perfect compare
Edsel-Dan Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Yea, I see what you mean. And I agree on that about being PERFECT for that price. Not a Sedan, but does this count as a 4dr LeMans??
Danno Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 Walter, I think there was a WIP on that one, if I am not mistaken, he used the 78 monaco for it. Dan, the LTD crown vic, I think the roof line is wrong, it looks way to low, its says on the website under the pic, coming soon, all I will say, for $95, it better be perfect compare Roof is way off, all pillars are too thick, "B" pillar is slanted forward instead of rearward, the rear door fixed windows are way off, all the fender corners and creases are too soft, too rounded, the front fascia is curved instead of pointed (looking down from above)[in fact, the front end looks more like a '76 Chevy than a Ford], rear bumper nowhere close. If it is a master-in-progress, then it has a long way to go yet. This one is not as rough as that 1/32 Monaco that was floating around awhile back, but it's far from industry standard for correctness. But the picture shows it in paint ... then it must not be a master-in-progress ... if this is the final configuration, I wouldn't pay $9.50 for it let alone $95.00. The pictured car almost looks like an HO version ... you know how "soft" body lines are in HO scale. Just MHO. Keeping my wallet safely tucked away.
gray07 Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 I know its a 68/69 plymouth satelite but what about Adam 12s 4 door police car
Junkman Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 (edited) Yea, I see what you mean. And I agree on that about being PERFECT for that price. Not a Sedan, but does this count as a 4dr LeMans?? Took me some time to count all the doors, but yes, the count adds up correctly, hence it counts. Edited June 14, 2012 by Junkman
Danno Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Took me some time to count all the doors, but yes, the count adds up correctly, hence it counts. Does that door in the back count? That would make it ... 5 .... wouldn't it?
Edsel-Dan Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I am not sure when they started, but wasn't Ford the First to offer the tail-gate opening as either flip down gate or swing open door? I want to say 1970 something. Did you see my list of wished for 4dr sedans?? 67-69 Belvedere, 71 Satellite, & 73 Matador. OK Here look: 67 Belvedere Pilot ADAM-12!! 68 First Season Adam-12. 69 Second & Third Season 71 Fourth & Fifth seasons 73 Matador, Sixth, Seventh & Eighth Seasons Also seen; 67,-70 Belvedere Wagons, 71 & 72 Satellite Wagons, 73 Matador Wagon, 74 Matador 4dr Sedan Sg Mac or Lt. Command Post unit. Jo-Han's Fury though a Nice build, is Not accurate for an LAPD Cruiser.
chase-cars Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 This one is not as rough as that 1/32 Monaco that was floating around awhile back, but it's far from industry standard for correctness. Mine is slushcast so the finish inside the shell isn't straight - if you wanted to make opening hood etc it wouldn't look good. But on the outside the detail is crisp and the casting quality is very good. The quality of my painting is awful, but that's just impatience to get it on the track! As for the accuracy of the model in its proportions, I think it's fantastic. But that's only my opinion, and the opinion of those who've bought one
martinfan5 Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 I just wish you would do it in 1/24th or 25th scale
Danno Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Close but just not quite right. Accuracy in proportions? We agree to disagree. Probably doesn't look too bad in as small a scale as 1/32 but it just wouldn't fly in 1/25 as it currently sits. When one considers how much you'd have to charge for a 1/25 product, a customer should be able to expect it to be closer in fidelity. I respect and admire your efforts to pull it off, but I just don't think you're there yet. And, of course, you're a whole lot closer than anyone else has ever gotten before! Gotta give you credit for that, too, Gareth! Keep on.
kruleworld Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 The CG picture looks to be too tall/narrow for one thing.
Rob Hall Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 The CG picture looks to be too tall/narrow for one thing. The front bumper looks too flat and not tall enough..
chase-cars Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 (edited) I'm quite happy with the overall proportions of the car, you're right about the bumper though. However, context is everything, and this is how it looks in its real environment Edited June 20, 2012 by chase-cars
