LAone Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 great looking monza. digging the extra details and that hand painted woodgrain looks sweet.
3men2s Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 very nice, I like the flat color graphics over the glossy metalic paint job. this thing mean business.
Scale-Master Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 There were no windows so I made a windshield from sheet plastic. The headlights were painted with a mix of clear and white to tone down the chrome. (They don’t look so white in person…)

W-409 Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Oh, somehow I've missed this thread before. Luckily found it now. Nice to see Monza being built, and you're doing very good job with this. IMSA Style looks actually quite good in this body style, keep it going.
Jantrix Posted June 26, 2012 Posted June 26, 2012 Hmm.... did you modify the rear because it doesn't look anything like the rear on my kit. Was there more than one kit?

First sentence in the first post in this thread: "This started out as an old late ‘70’s Sunbird by Revell." "I am using the customized Sunbird rear end." Edited June 26, 2012 by Scale-Master

Scale-Master Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 Rob, is that the one you stuffed a Nascar chassis into?
Jon Cole Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 The rear on that car looks like a 240Z. That's not a bad thing.
Scale-Master Posted June 27, 2012 Author Posted June 27, 2012 The rear on that car looks like a 240Z. That's not a bad thing. Agreed! And that is exactly why I used it and even painted the recessed area that metallic gray.
Jantrix Posted June 27, 2012 Posted June 27, 2012 Rob, is that the one you stuffed a Nascar chassis into? Yep sure is. It was a lot of fun. I did it for the original Cannonball CBP on the SA forums. There's more pics in my album. Finished pics on page 3 of the main album and the WIP is in the Captain Chaos Special sub-album.
