Joe Handley Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Dad and I stopped by work and saw this Is Everett Jasmer doing a Camaro that's tied to his Monster Trucks and shop, or is thissomething that Round 2 coocked up for their Camaro kit?
The70judgeman Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 "USA 1" was a saying Chevrolet used years ago if I'm not mistaken. Maybe they're bringing it back?
Joe Handley Posted June 22, 2012 Author Posted June 22, 2012 Reason I'm wondering about the tie in is with the graphics being so similar to what the monster trucks use (and pretty cool looking pdate at that!) it took me by surprise. The two kits weren't wrapped together btw, I just placed them side by side for comparison purposes.
Chuck Most Posted June 22, 2012 Posted June 22, 2012 Wonder if it might be a tie-in somehow to Bruce Larson's series of Camaro Funny Cars.
Joe Handley Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 Billy can you give the amt model number please. AMT778 Wonder if it might be a tie-in somehow to Bruce Larson's series of Camaro Funny Cars. Could be, but the graphics are closer to those of the USA-1 Monster Trucks, that's what caught my eye.
Edsel-Dan Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 The one in the pic by the Camaro IS 1/32. It is a Snap kit. Lower Left corner of the box.
Joe Handley Posted June 23, 2012 Author Posted June 23, 2012 This is the re-issue and it states 1/25th. The truck kit show is the 1/32 snapper, would have prefered grabbing the 1/25 kit for the pic, but we're out at the moment.
Chuck Most Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 AMT778 Could be, but the graphics are closer to those of the USA-1 Monster Trucks, that's what caught my eye. Same here. Seems kind of weird they'd use the graphics from a now-defunct monster truck on a new Camaro. But then again, I guess so would using the livery from the Larson funny cars...

Well, the Everett Jasmer USA-1 truck wouldn't as far out of the public eye as Bruce Larson's USA-1 drag cas are, especially for those of us who aren't old enough to have seen him run. That is the number of the camaro i hope. After looking at my post i did not state wich kit. Thanks biliy that camaro looks sharp. That is the Camaro's stock number, I figured that's the one you wanted.......I'm kinda surprised that we sell so many of those USA-1 snap trucks though, we only carry one at a time and are always reordering them!?

Fat Brian Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Everett made a deal with a promoter last year to bring USA-1 back out and is even building a new, modern, race truck. Maybe the promoter allowed the graphics to be used to further spread the USA-1 name. http://themonsterblog.us/2011/04/22/old-skool-motorsports-making-big-news-usa-1-new-events-daytona/
Danno Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Nice graphics for the Camaro. I hadn't planned on getter another Camaro kit (have MANY), but those decals alone will be worth the price of admission!
thatz4u Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 USA 1 means the number of American made parts in the new Camaro...LOL
Joe Handley Posted June 24, 2012 Author Posted June 24, 2012 Hope you're talking abuut the Camaro, That's kind of generous if you're talking about the truck kit
Wayne's World Posted June 24, 2012 Posted June 24, 2012 USA 1 means the number of American made parts in the new Camaro...LOL Really? That many?
Joe Handley Posted June 25, 2012 Author Posted June 25, 2012 Really? That many? That's probably just the engine and trans
Joe Handley Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 Just got an email update from Round 2 and they had something about this kit on it! http://www.autoworldstore.com/p-1419-amt-usa-1-2010-chevy-camaro-coupe-125-scale-model-kit.aspx Turns out it is a tie in to the USA-1Monster Truck after all!
