JollySipper Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Does anyone know of a good source for a '61-'71 Dodge truck? I would like to find a standard cab, short bed version, if I could..... Thanks for any info, you guy's help is always appreciated!
Casey Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 RMR makes a standard cab '65 Swepty: http://www.freewebs....resin/nf125.htm More info here, too: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=52110&hl=%2Bdodge+%2B64
JollySipper Posted July 9, 2012 Author Posted July 9, 2012 Thanks Casey! I found through the link to the topic about the '64 that Modelhaus makes a standard cab with an 8 ft. bed, and a crew cab with a 6 1/2 ft. bed. Do you guys think they would mix-and-match parts so I could build a standard cab with a 6 1/2 ft. bed?
Casey Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Yes, I'm pretty sure they will. I would just call them, on the telephone (they are old school), and tell them what you're looking for, and they can probably put together what you need.
biscayne63 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 Hi, The Modelhaus beds are attached to cabs. Have both of the.
gtx6970 Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 I have the 65 Dodge from RMR, but mine is a 4 door . Nice resin casting, Not perfect but very workable . especially considering the alternatives ( which is modelhause or nothing as far as I know ) I think it was $35 plus postage for the cab and grillebumper pieces with an interior tub. I bought it less bed as mine gets the one shown
Casey Posted July 9, 2012 Posted July 9, 2012 The Modelhaus beds are attached to cabs. Have both of them. Sorry, I thinking of Vince's pics, and it looks like he cut the bed free from the cab(s): http://public.fotki....haus-64-dodge-/ More info on the Modelhaus' Swepty: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=54716&hl=dodge

Casey Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Any Questions????? Why were they made with the cabs and beds as one piece, instead of separately?
dimaxion Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The originals were one piece in the day . Copies would be also . Thanx ..
realgone58 Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The originals were one piece in the day . Copies would be also . Thanx .. On the 1:1 they were never one piece.
Casey Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The originals were one piece in the day . Copies would be also . Thanx .. True, but they could have made them all separate cab and bed pieces, like they did with the Crew Cab shown above. Just curious why they chose to keep them one-piece.
Rob Hall Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 The originals were one piece in the day . Copies would be also . Thanx .. What originals? This Dodge was never kitted back in the day.
dimaxion Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Oops ! The originals I have are the '57 Inrternational , I had a '55 & '57 Cameo . A friend had a '57-' '60 Ford Truck Promo . Another had a '60-65 Chevy Promo . All of these were one piece castings . I forgot the Dodges weren't done until the '72 MY by MPC . I apologize . Thanx for the correction ..
