Jim N Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 I just finished this one and gave it a retro paint job. The color is Panther Pink, which as many of you probably know was a Chrysler muscle car color from the 1970's. The car went together real well until the final assembly and then it became a wrestling match, I like this one though and thank everyone for looking.
Harry P. Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Don't know what sort of problem you had with final assembly, but whatever it was, you obviously overcame it. Nice model!
Sixties Sam Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Looks good! That color really grabs the eye! Nice work. Sam
Modlbldr Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Yeah, I'd say you won that match! Nice looking build. Great color choice. Later-
Jim N Posted July 14, 2012 Author Posted July 14, 2012 Thanks for the comments everyone. The wrestling match I had with the final assembly was that the engine bay detail that Revell attached to the interior was a bit warped and I didn’t recognize it. The Model Master paint also has a bit of a tendency to chip easily. So I put the interior in and then tried to fit the chassis and I started to have to force the front together. In doing so, I chipped the paint and I didn’t think I could do too much bending on the engine bay and additional test fitting. After I got the front of the chassis to fit like it was supposed to, the back bumper and panel had to be glued to the body. Since the front did not fit well, the back did not either. This required more muscle so to speak. After this the most frustrating thing was one of the front tires was about 1/16” outside of the fender. This required additional messaging. I think that Revell’s latest kits are right up there with Tamiya as far as fit and finish, but this one proved to be quite the challenge when putting the final pieces together.
