george 53 Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Jim,Jim,Jim, when you talk like this, you date us! The cars don't even exist any more, but we still remember the nicknames we gave 'em, hu? Hadn't heard that name in MANY a year now! Your Baccaruda came out real nice!
crazyjim Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Hey George - I'm still stuck in the '60s. I had such a great time I really don't want to leave. Thanks and I'm glad you like my Baccaruda.
crazyjim Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Thank you Josh and Jonathan. Paint is just good old HOK.
Jantrix Posted August 7, 2012 Posted August 7, 2012 (edited) Yeah - that's what we used to call them. Baccaruda. Man, I'm glad I didn't do drugs like that. Looks great Jim, I'm looking forward to seeing your stuff on Saturday. Edited August 7, 2012 by Jantrix

crazyjim Posted August 7, 2012 Author Posted August 7, 2012 I'll be wearing a lime green FAST T-shirt, Rob. Looking forward to seeing you again.
Jantrix Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 (edited) You'll be easy to find. I'll just find the one having a shiny vs. rusty argument with Virgil. Edited August 8, 2012 by Jantrix
Bartster Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 Naw. Virgil goes both ways. ..........Oh no you didn't!!! Say it ain't so.
crazyjim Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 I was working model registration this afternoon. IPMS had 2 computers for the registration process. Combined there were over 800 registrants - not builds - people.
Sixties Sam Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Great looking Barracuda! Nice finish, and the interior is great! The diorama is cool, too! Sam
crazyjim Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 Thanks, Sam. It was a basic kind of kit but nice to work with. That's my standard photo background until I get to trying to build a proper dio.
crazyjim Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 I got an email notification but I don't see the post here. I put the mirrors where I did because that's where I thought they would belong. Besides, if I left them off, I might get a nastygram from Harry. And there is a bracket holding the alternator.
Danno Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Not only sand the hood, but you might try checking the radiator. It looks like it's too high and may be interfering with the hood, not allowing it to settle down low enough. Just a thought ... and hard to know for sure just from the pix. Aside from the hood issue, beautiful model. Terrific colors ~ body and interior and both together ~ and nice, clean build. It's just really hard to get around that hood ...
