MsDano85gt Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Recently I had gotten a junk lot of models from e-bay mostly because it for sure had the revell mustang II kit the "monroe handler" kit in it! I won it and that car was mostly complete. Score 1. Long story shOrtened a little bit, I Already had one of those kits but it was a 80's reissue under the hotrod series as the cobra racEr, I knew what it really was tho cause of the body kit and rear taillight valence -I have a pic of the real monroe handler in one of my many mustang books. Last week -I won another "junk" lot of 2 of those cobra monroes complete with decal sheets and parts still sealed up in plastic (chrome trees) 2 boxes, long story short even tho someone had robbed one body and puttied the ###### out of the 2nd, now that I've got the putty off I'm going to have the means to make 3 mustang 2's 1 possible king cobra style, 2 monroe handler stlye 1 in yellow, 1 in white (one will have A opening liftgate). So psyched about this
jw78z28 Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Nice. I love some of the ebay junkyard lots I've picked up a few of them.
slusher Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 l have been checking out the junk lots but not anything l needed so far and some are pricey...good to hear you scored..
Draggon Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Nice score! Ive gotten a few unobtainium things in junkyards. Sometimes the Revell parts packs show up in strange places!
Olskoolrodder Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Nice. I love some of the ebay junkyard lots I've picked up a few of them. Me too, though it's been a while since I bid on one. Nice haul,Brother!
1930fordpickup Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I have picked up a 33 Chevy delivery in one of these one time . Not perfect but it will work.
Ben Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 That's one of my most favorite car kits! I am curently building a yellow Monroe Handler just like the box art but I've made several upgrades including real machined Centerline wheels including the spare in the hatchback area. You can see the pics here: www.public.fotki.com/lotso
Lunajammer Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I got a Monroe Handler sealed kit for $10 at a vendor table. #1 I couldn't believe that's all he wanted for it. #2 I couldn't believe it had been there all day before I found it. Ben, I remember that build. Super work. Don't forget us when you're done.
