Dr. Cranky Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 LOL, when I searched on google for AZTEC WARRIOR, this one popped up:
Dr. Cranky Posted August 10, 2012 Author Posted August 10, 2012 Zeroed in on the perfect name for this one: LA RATA AZTECA. Oh yes, I can see some silver and gold on there . . . Now, I have to find just the right color turquoise.
Tony T Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) Here's one for ya, Doc...Flat turquoise would work...love the whites and skirts on this... Or this... Hope you gets some inspiration from these! Edited August 10, 2012 by Tony T
LoneWolf15 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Testors ! Cut it 50 / 50 with the laquer thinner , it'll knock the shine down quick and dry even quicker !
Jantrix Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Lets not overlook the idea of using a metallic gloss color and then hit it with some matte clear and go for the suede look. I think this is a great idea Virgil.
Dave Ambrose Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Around here, Aztec means red and black. I'd go with a slightly darker red that would never be confused with primer, and either black fenders, or black below the belt-line. Lay down a gold pinstripe to separate the two. That's my dos centavos.
Tony T Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Found these two pics of the same car... And one idea for a future build...GASSER!
Terror Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I always like what La Doca Rata has on the bench.Nice subject Doc.

Greg Pugh Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Here are a few of my favorite '40 Ford models...
Dr. Cranky Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Boy, thanks everyone, these are some great looking 40 Fords. I am making very slow progress, but there will be more by tomorrow. If you have more reference pictures, please post them, I find them very inspirational. And I still open for great ideas.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 My favorite is 2, and this goes to show that when a good kit gets under the builder's skin, it's a sweet ride. It happened to me last year with the 55 Belaire and the Shelby Cobra. Thank you for all the great inspiration, folks.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 11, 2012 Author Posted August 11, 2012 Roger, that's a sweet model. I remember it, and I love the paint, and I do have plenty of Aztec gold here. Ah, temptations, temptations.
CemetaryAngel81 Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 However this ends up,coming from you,Cranky I know this is gonna be sick!
Dr. Cranky Posted August 12, 2012 Author Posted August 12, 2012 Thanks for the support, Lorenzo. Getting the rolling chassis assembled and ready for primer. Stay tuned in.
