Dr. Cranky Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Although I have a weakness for the 1950 Chevy Truck 3100, this 1954 is so GORGEOUS I could not resist wavering in my love and loyalty to it. [
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 My all time favorite trucks are the '53 thru '56 Fords. Don't know why, but I have to stop and stare whenever I see one.
jeffs396 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 I LOVE the 50s Willys pickups, wagons, and panels:
Dr. Cranky Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 I tell you when a car is flawless and beautiful, it is hard not to fall in love with it.
Chuck Most Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Nothing beats a C-Series International- pickup or Travelall.
Gluhead Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Tons of good ones (heh, see what I did there?), but the Dodge Pilothouse is one of my favorites.
Dr. Cranky Posted August 15, 2012 Author Posted August 15, 2012 Lordy some great examples and inspiration for builds.
plasticbutcher Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 These are all good looking trucks and great topic Doc----but for me it would have to be 1957-1960 Ford F-100s, just love that body style
ARTEMIS1759 Posted August 15, 2012 Posted August 15, 2012 Agreed on Advanced Design Chevrolets (1947.5-53). Yes 54 and early 55 had this design but I hate the cross grille design. They have a truck for 30 big ones at a local dealership just like the one in the video except it has Texaco signage (my other love in cars). I want an early 47.5-51 with the vent windows from the 52-55 and the one piece windshield from the 54 and 55. In the 5 window model and an 7.5' box (3/4 ton). I don't like short boxes.
mnwildpunk Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I'm surprised no one has mentioned my two favorites the stude and international
Longbox55 Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 I prefer the '55 2nd to '59 Chevrolets, but I'm somewhat biased [media=]
mnwildpunk Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Long box 55 I don't blame your bias I love the 57 chev apache beautiful trick
lapazleo Posted August 16, 2012 Posted August 16, 2012 Since we seem to have covered plenty of classic light trucks how about some classic heavies. All Mack B models,MackLT. bullnose Kenworth, needlenose Kenworth and Peterbilts, Sterling J series and Peterbilt 359s.
tooltas Posted August 23, 2012 Posted August 23, 2012 i just love older gm truck 37 to 87 and the old k model international ton and halfs too but i love all old trucks
Chuck Doan Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Those Studebakers are great- I like the late thirties to late forties Dodges. Specially the step roofed panel trucks. Big fave is the late forties Hudson pick-up.
fredgsanford Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 ive liked the 1958 apaches since the first time i saw one. ive also had a thing for jeep gladiators and scramblers
george 53 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 STILL think the Kenworth T-1000 is the MOST beautiful tractor truck ever!!!!
Jim B Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Wouldn't happen to have a pic of one, would you George?
george 53 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 No, Sorry Jim. But I guess they weren't that popular, caz Kenworth only built them for about 2 or 3 years, IF that long. There aren't very many on the roads, and I was told that the truck drivers weren't too happy with the styleing of it. Such a shame, cas it LOOKED futuristic. not like that retro style truck that Mobius just released. THAT to me, is NOT a very attractive truck at all. TOO 30's Art Deco lookin to me, but hey, it musta attracted SOME truckers, cause there's a model of IT an NO T-1000's! There was a guy who did resin copies of the T-1000, but he was askin OVER 130.00 for a cab, hood, interior an sleeper. YOU still had to provide the donor kit. I wanted one of those, but he's quit casting it.Oh well.
george 53 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Went lookin for it, a picture of it,rather, an there's NOTHING listed except that it's a truck produced by Kenworth! If ANYONE can run a pic, i'd greatly appericiate it, as I myself, couldn't find a pic of it!!!!!
