gtx6970 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 I keep hearing about the purple pond , I need to strip some painted bodies and was wondering what this is ? Castrol Super Clean ? If so does it work better than easy off ?
Fat Brian Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Yep, Super Clean is a clear, semi luminescent purple. Think purple antifreeze. It does well for most enamels and acrylics but it has trouble with some laquers, especially the hotter ones.
stulee11 Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 sorry to jump on this one... but i keep hearing alot about that stuff to but i have looked every where over here in the uk and cant find it... could someone point me in the right direction... and does it strip off automotive paint to ???? thanks stu
Foxer Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 It's basically a degreaser ... most likely a different brand name over there.
gtx6970 Posted August 20, 2012 Author Posted August 20, 2012 Thanks all. Anyone know if it's safe for resin parts ? I will give it a try this weekend
gluebomb Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 (edited) Or you can use a product called Purple Power. Same thing as Castrol Super Clean but a lot cheaper. Edited August 20, 2012 by gluebomb

Mike Kucaba Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Super clean is my goto stripper, but now and then I use 99% alcohol and Dawn Power dissolver.
