realgone58 Posted August 26, 2012 Author Posted August 26, 2012 Thanks much for the kind words. The Aquamarine color is actually the color the kit was moulded in. The only thing I painted was the roof and interior. The Aqua is a Ford color with a promo like gloss to it. Hubley made these in factory built form as promotionals for Ford, and later in the year issued this kit. I think these were destined to be Aquamarine promos, and after watching the sucess of the recent (at the time) AMT/SMP and Johan customizing kits, they designed some customizing parts and a decal sheet, and made this available in kit form.
Modelmartin Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Very cool! I spent a few years of my childhood riding in the third seat of an off-white Country Squire! Loved it!
Guest Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 That is a super nice looking wagon Al! I would love to have one of these, but just about every one I've seen up for grabs is warped beyond any hope of repair. Well done!

The model kits were made of polystyrene and didn't warp like the promos did.
weirich1 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 (edited) Love it! My parents had a candy apple red Country Squire wagon in late-70s through '85! Very unique! Edited August 28, 2012 by weirich1
blueoval92 Posted August 28, 2012 Posted August 28, 2012 this reminds me of the three days i spent yanking my 460 engine out of a 66 country squire, was kind of a similar blue too. probably the most aggravating 3 days of my life so far but it was worth it because i am a new distributor away from having that beast running and breathing fire again. will post a video of it running when i get her started.
A modeler named mike Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Beautiful wagon! I just scored one in the same Aquamarine Blue color. I can only hope I'll do it justice.
