FAST442 Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I think this has been asked before, but can't remember when and can't find the post. Who makes the MT drag radials 1/25 scale on here? Who makes the resin turbos? Looking for several of each for new projects. Thanks.
crazyjim Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Ma's Resin for the tires and I believe Shucky does turbos.
FAST442 Posted September 6, 2012 Author Posted September 6, 2012 These guys are on here a lot?? Thanks
Johnny Racer Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 I have tried to get some stuff from Shucky awhile back but I am not sure he is still casting. I know there is another guy on another board, Dom87SS who makes KILLER drag radials and turbos. Might want to check with him.
crazyjim Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 (edited) Here's Ma's Resin http://public.fotki.com/cnaind/ Shucky posts here. You should be able to find him in a member search. Edited September 6, 2012 by crazyjim
shucky Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Ma's is the best choice on the tires. I have a couple sets and they are fabulous. The other person wanted 40.00 a set when I asked because they are 3d printed rubber. No thanks. Because I have received an overwhelming number of requests for turbos, I may be doing a special run of the "x-large" size next month sometime. I will make a post when they are available, so be kind to my inbox. For the record, I stopped doing resin over a year ago because it took too much time away from my personal projects. I now only do resin for myself lol ... but on special occasion I will make some stuff for other folks.
crazyjim Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 No more resin?? Bummer. There's been some activity requesting turbo's and I keep mentioning your name. I sold some rat rod seats to a guy in England and he wants turbo's. If you have any interest, PM a real email address to me and I'll get it to Patrick - or I can provide you with Patrick's email.
socal76 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 shucky, if you do make another batch of those turbos, I would like to get a few too!
mikemodeler Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 For the record, I stopped doing resin over a year ago because it took too much time away from my personal projects. I now only do resin for myself lol ... but on special occasion I will make some stuff for other folks. Two lessons learned here: 1. When a hobby becomes a job, it can take the fun out of it. 2. When you see something in resin, get it while you can because the source can dry up without notice. Shucky, I commend you for realizing that resin casting was consuming your time and you had to prioritize things. While some might not understand that, I do and know that some things are more important than others. Best of luck!
blackandwhite Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I know Dom from another forum and his stuff is always top notch
C.C.RACER Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Shucky, I want to be included in the turbo run. I would like to have 10 please. Let me know when you have them done. No hurry, take your time as I also understand how life happens and things have to happen as they need to. Good luck
Bonekrosha Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 If you ever do any 1/16th stuff, I'm in !
FASTBACK340 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Ma's has pictures of the MT Drag Radials on their Fotki site, but no mention in their price list. I too inquired about a set from another caster and want to see my options, price-wise.
cnaind Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 The smaller (275-60x15) , the bigger ones (325-50x15) All cast in soft rubber. Mike (Shucky) is right about not having any personal time when you get into casting. I reached that point quite a while ago but decided to push on as I hate to turn a fellow modeller away. However.....at this time I will take drag radial orders but not take any other new orders until I'm caught up & finish the masters for the cars I've been working on. I enjoy the challenges of mastering/casting but have run out of spare time & need to replenish my supply.
blackandwhite Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 so you are taking orders or not..? sorry, the wording is a little fuzzy
george 53 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I THINK cuzzin Al is sayin he'll ONLY take orders for the drag radials, an nothing else right now, till he's caught up on his 'Other' masters.
blackandwhite Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 lol, thanks for that clarification. Do I place an order through a pm or ..?
Casey Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 lol, thanks for that clarification. Do I place an order through a pm or ..? Send him a PM, please.
crazyjim Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Al's pieces are works of art. Those drag radials are beautiful.
cnaind Posted September 16, 2012 Posted September 16, 2012 Thanks for the kind words guys; I try to make everything as best I can. I will still take drag radial orders only. If anyone is interested I'll start a new post to show where my new supply of spare time is going.......

gonzo64nova Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Do you have any dimensions on the M/T radials (both sizes) , I would like to see if they will fill out the wheel wells on a couple of projects Im working on.-Bill
