Exotics_Builder Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 (edited) Here are the photos of what is in the Aoshima Lamborghini Aventador kit. I haven’t examined for sink marks or tree connection issues as yet. The kit has a lot more in it than the Fujimi, including metal pins for the doors and (I assume) hood as they all open. The optional PE set sure looks like it was done by KA models (who also do the Fujimi ones). But I haven’t checked that out either as yet. Here is what is in the kit. martinfan5 Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 You beat me to it, I was going to do a review of this kit when mine gets here, cant wait, now just have to order the paint for it
cobraman Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Wow ! Lots of parts there. That ought to be a beauty when finished.
jaymcminn Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Who would have thought that Aoshima would become the Japanese model company to beat these days... just look at those crazy door hinge pins!
Exotics_Builder Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 You beat me to it, I was going to do a review of this kit when mine gets here, cant wait, now just have to order the paint for it I've got my paint coming from Scalefinishes. Arancio Argos is the color I chose:
martinfan5 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 (edited) I've got my paint coming from Scalefinishes. Arancio Argos is the color I chose: Same color I am going to use, and getting it from the same place I am not sure if I am going to use the kit wheels, or go aftermarket Like they say, great minds think a like This is what I would like to do with mine Edited September 8, 2012 by martinfan5
mademan Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I really want to cast those rear tires!!! 335/30/20
kyotey1693 Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 I agree on casting the tires. What aftermarket wheels are available for the lambo? I have looked but havent come across anything. Jada makes a "players" lambo or "big time" version (cant remember what they call it but I know it's jada for sure) of the murcielago that has some really nice deep dish wheels that I have thought about hijacking for my lambo build.
58 Impala Posted September 8, 2012 Posted September 8, 2012 Exotics-Builder, where did you order the the kit and detail set from?
Exotics_Builder Posted September 8, 2012 Author Posted September 8, 2012 Same color I am going to use, and getting it from the same place I am not sure if I am going to use the kit wheels, or go aftermarket Like they say, great minds think a like This is what I would like to do with mine Sorry I stole your thunder and posted before you got yours
Sixx Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 That's one wicked looking super car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exotics_Builder Posted September 9, 2012 Author Posted September 9, 2012 Exotics-Builder, where did you order the the kit and detail set from? Hobby Link Japan. http://www.hlj.com/
58 Impala Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Thanks Gerry, one more question. Does the PE set come with model?
martinfan5 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Gerry, no worries here , my thunder is still here
Haubenschild Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 How much does this kit cost? This thread is really inspiring me to build one!
martinfan5 Posted September 10, 2012 Posted September 10, 2012 Hobby Link Japan has for $40.87, but its on back order at the moment Hobby search Japan has it for $45.63
Exotics_Builder Posted September 10, 2012 Author Posted September 10, 2012 Thanks Gerry, one more question. Does the PE set come with model? No, needs to be ordered separately. I also have the Fujimi Aventador (sorry I got it given the Aoshima) and Hobby Design PE for it. I will eventually explore how good the PE aimed for the Fujimi works or complements the Aoshima set
martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 I think its HLJ has a P/E set for it around $10 or so, that is one of cheaper ones, I think the one Gerry bought was around $50 IIRC for it.
samurai7 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 Will you be getting the HRE "Vintage" Wheels from FG Models??
martinfan5 Posted September 11, 2012 Posted September 11, 2012 (edited) Aoshima's PE set that exotics has, should retail for between $20-25us. Dan Dan, you are correct, I thought the one he bought was a different one, my mistake this is the one from Aoshima http://www.hlj.com/product/AOS00140 Here is the one that cost about that the same as the kit http://www.hlj.com/product/ACS9408 Edited September 11, 2012 by martinfan5
samurai7 Posted September 12, 2012 Posted September 12, 2012 I can't seem to find anyone who sells the "Japan Only" full engine version. I've e-mailed HLJ and they didn't have any info. I wish Aoshima offered just the full engine sprues as an upgrade for us. That gives us the option.
