Anirudh Arun Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Hello all Heres my first /124 truck, the Revell Peterbilt 359 conventional tractor. I'm quite pleased with the way the body and frame turned out, but the chrome is really very poor. Not having an airbrush meant I couldn't use Alclad laquers, and for some reason German customs impounded the Spastix paints I ordered. But anyway here it is: Cheers Anirudh
Fat Brian Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Looks good, the chrome on mine was messed up too.
truckabilly Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Nice and clean! The only thing is the yellow-red coding of the coil hoses (susie). These color codes are used in Europe. If your model represents a truck based in the USA you should have red and blue. Other than that... perfect.
Anirudh Arun Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Thanks a lot guys, I really appreciate them. Jaroslav, thanks for pointing out the correct colours, I'll change the lines, and perhaps add a power line when I'm back home. The body colour was Tamiya TS-19 Metallic blue, sanded with mircomesh cloths, and polished with tamiya compound and modelling wax, and the frame was Tamiya metallic black (TS-40, I think). At the moment, I'm at university so no progress on this till later, but I do plan to build the Revell 1/25 heavy duty trailer for it to tow
cwobeaman Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Look to have done a fine job with it. I have one on my bench right now that I've painted rattle can krylon 'bright idea' yellow. Will shoot the clear this week and then post a work in progress. Do you have any closeups that you took of the engine?
BigBad Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Too bad these truck don't have brakes! They really don't!
