kruleworld Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 James May's BMW Z3 Africa Corps built from Tamiya kit 1/25, james didn't like his bmw. it broke down several times, was underpowered, too stiff in the suspension and it had gears so far apart 'i could fit another gearbox between them'. To get across the desert, he added jerry cans, spare tires, track planks, tools, lights and a camo paint scheme. Most of the accessories were from the spares box, and the pick and light bar was scratchbuilt. Paint was a spray can apple mist. camo applied with the 'hole-in-paper' method.

cobraman Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 To be honest when I saw the model I thought " What the heck ? ". Then I saw the photos of the actual car and it all made sense. Good job ! I think you nailed it.
Austin T Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 One of my favorite episodes, now if only they made a robin reliant I could make several top gear cars from there.
