dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 I only have 9 of the kits left that I received. I traded a 77 GMC wrecker, and a 2010 Mustang GT for a 71 Hemicuda with a photoetched detail sheet. Gave a 56 F-100 to my boss to build. And am using the 67 Chevelle Pro Street to kitbash a 67 GTO for my Uncle Danny.
Dr. Cranky Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Wow, very cool prizes, congratulations.
blunc Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 that's a great prize package. I suggest taking a photo of the trophy with the model that won you that trophy, easier to display on a wall or your faceborg account.
dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Thanks Doc, and blunc. I'll do that and get it posted. Corey
CorvairJim Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 HOLY SWAG, BATMAN! One word: WOW!!! Congratuations, Casey. I am SO there next year! I know I don't have a chance, since my skills aren't nearly of the caliber that I see shown by many of the guys on this website and others, but the only way to know for certain that I WON'T win is not to enter. I need to find out the particulars of the contest and get cracking. It takes me too long to get a model finished...
dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Here is a pic of the trophy with my entry. Corey
dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Thanks again guys. You're right Roger. The rules say that you have to buy your kit after the start date in February. And you do have to photoraph your recipt as proof. I would recommend anybody to enter. If I can do it, then there are many, many people in this forum that are just as capable of winning. Corey
Models by Bear Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Wow! That's a lot of stuff Congrats.
dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Thanks man. Yeah it really is alot. Way more than I ever really expected, even after checking out the list of prizes on Revell's site. Corey
1930fordpickup Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Congrats on the mountain of lot !! Wow is right on the money . It is good to see they are behind the contest not just a photo op for the company .
dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Thanks Rob, and Andy. Yeah, I think it's cool that Revell and GearZ both stood behind it like they did. It's awesome that they're actually interested in seeing what people are doing with their products, and rewarding the winners of the contest so well for their efforts. I'd have been happy just to have them mention m name, let alone all of the great prizes from everyone. Maybe their contest being so well advertised will get some more young modelers interested in building. Corey
PatRedmond Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Nice prizes!! Congratulations. Way to go, Revell for all that great stuff. (Calendar will come in handy..../snark~ )
Austin T Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 I got some of the stuff you got since I was a runner up,I do get quite a lot of questions about the "I do models" t-shirt.I think they could have worded it a little better, congrats on the stuff.
dimebolt Posted September 27, 2012 Author Posted September 27, 2012 Thanks Austin, and congrats to you too. I think they worded it that way on purpose. LOL, When somebody asks you about it; just smile real big and say "Yep I sure do. I do some of the nicest models around." Cars that is. Tell them to get their heads out of the gutter. Corey
W-409 Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 ....Oh and needs to take part to that contest next year. I thought it already this year, but I thought that the deadline was too short for a slow builder like me. But next year I have to try. Not completely because of the prizes, but that whole contest is actually really interesting.
blunc Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Thanks Austin, and congrats to you too. I think they worded it that way on purpose. Corey I bet you can string them along for a bit... Tell them that you "buff them till they're shiny..."
Marcus M. Jones Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 i know i have been busy if i missed this post. nice prizes like last year. well earned... congrats! now that airbrush does it come with a fine needle?
dimebolt Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 i know i have been busy if i missed this post. nice prizes like last year. well earned... congrats! now that airbrush does it come with a fine needle? Thanks Marcus. I've never had a brush that wasn't a Testors 20$ cheapie that uses propellant. To me it looks like a pretty fine needle, but I'm not really familiar with a dual action brush either. Gonna have to learn about them, and put in some practice. Here are a couple pics of the brush. Corey

Marcus M. Jones Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 (edited) this is a large needle. for basic airbrushing this is what you want if you ever attempt micro airbrushing in free hand you'll want the fine needle. because this is your first duel action airbrush i suggest getting on you tube and watch basic airbrush techniques videos. practice what they show and in no time your fingers will have the muscle memory to start doing almost anything you want with it. you're going to love this airbrush once you get the hang of it. take a close look at the reflection in the airbrush cup and tell me what you see. maybe it's my dirty mind then again maybe not...
