Ira Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 (edited) ROCKET VAN!!! Another New Cartoon Project! The Rocket Van Starts with a Deals Wheels VW Van, a Star Wars X-Wing Fighter and extra Deals Wheels Front Tires. Most of the modifications will be to fit small Front Tires in the rear and fit all of the tires inside the body. The New small rear tires are so much smaller than the BiG Hi-Bloatation Tires that they will replace... Progress Photos Coming Soon... Edited November 30, 2012 by Ira

Ira Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 FILLIN' THE WELLS!!! I started by trimming the Flares from the Wheel Wells with curved sissors... I block sanded the sides to get the area around the wheel wells flat. I was going to save the louvers but they got in the way... I traced the wheel well shapes on to sheet plastic and cut out the 2 pieces. I used Zap-A-Gap to hold them in place. Now lets see about making some smaller Wheel Wells...

cobraman Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 You can always use your Dremel and cut out some real vents now that the plastic ones are gone.

Ira Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 SMOOTHIN' THE REAR PAN... I decided to change the shape of the rear bottom of the ROCKET VAN Body to make the rear area nice and Tucked Under. First, I cut the lower section of the rear pan off. Here is the progress on Smoothin' the sides, before starting the Tuck... More Coming...

Ira Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 TUCKIN' IT IN!!! I cut out 2 triangular pieces of sheet plastic to fit on the bottom-rear edge of the body. I glued them on an angle so that the edge of the body now Tucks Under... Next I cut a strip of plastic as wide as the rear pan. I glued the strip in place on the rear pan. What Next...?
Ira Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 You can always use your Dremel and cut out some real vents now that the plastic ones are gone. Yeah, I will probably need to open up some BiG Vents for the ROCKET Engines!!!
Ira Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 MAKE IT LOW!!! I traced the original Interior plate on to sheet plastic and cut it out... I cut the Dashboard off of the Interior Plate and then cut about 1/4" from the bottom of the Dash... I mounted the sectioned Dashboard on to the New Interior Plate. When fit in place this modification will lower the front of the Van about 1/4"!
