griffin Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 hi guys, i am Christiaan, and live in The Netherlands. I am building the Revell Lonestar, and must say it's an great model. Thanks to Moebius of course. First i wanted to build it straight out of the box, but changed some things after all. Now i am working on the interior. Rear fenders from P&P. very good material. Hope you like it, tips and tricks welcome

Jim B Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 That's looking really nice! I think you're past all the tricky parts, if i remember correctly. Great job, I like the colors & the rear fenders.
BigBad Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 You're doing this truck justice Chris, maybe you should give US pointers! Nice paint scheme, plumbing, engine, etc...
Trucker_tim Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 Where abouts in the Netherlands are you? P.s nice job on the truck
griffin Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 Thanks for the compliments. What are US pointers?? I live in the North of the Netherlands, a place called Emmen. My work is truckdriver in shifts, hauling live poultry. Gr. Christiaan
Hessel Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 NIce to meet a lot of Dutch people on this forum. The truck is nice !!!! Hessel Drachten
The Modeling Hermit Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 This is beautiful. I love the colors and your workmanship.
mikemodeler Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I think he meant you could give us pointers, not US pointers. I am not sure we can offer any tips or tricks, you have done a great job and that truck looks great. Thanks for posting and welcome to the forum.

What's fun about this forum is that we can pick up little and bigger tricks we didn't think about. We get to see high quality builds here, like this Lonestar.
griffin Posted September 29, 2012 Author Posted September 29, 2012 Ok, no problem haha. I thought you meant some kind of bolts or nuts. Nice to read that you all like my truck. I have an beall tanker to put behind, or the new moebius great dane that is on it's way to Emmen. Gr. Christiaan
Bennyg Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 What are the revell instructions like? Colour looks awesome. Are the maxxforce decals part of the revell decals? Nice Ben
griffin Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 (edited) Yes, the maxxforce decal is part of the box. The revell instructions are very good and easy to follow. Edited September 30, 2012 by griffin
Bennyg Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 Cheers for the reply Christiaan. Might have to get a revell version. Ben
griffin Posted September 30, 2012 Author Posted September 30, 2012 The interior is ready. But i made an mistake to glue the backpanel of the cab on it's place before the interior. That's wrong but my mistake. Now i had to take it apart and put the top and sides seperatly in the cab and glued them. And the Dutch "wooden shoe" for on the dash is ready too. Gr. Christiaan
Truck parts Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 That is looking great. Nice colors you painted it.
cwobeaman Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Looks as though you have things well in hand...... I'm waiting for some putty to cure on mine right now; can't wait to sling some paint.
BigBad Posted October 1, 2012 Posted October 1, 2012 Would it be wrong to have the Revell instruction booklet from be shown around here? Copyright problems would arise wouldn't they? I think it would be a great help to some Moebius kit owners...
mountaindewd Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Nice build, Christiaan! I really like the painted tanks.
griffin Posted October 2, 2012 Author Posted October 2, 2012 Is this normal for a lonestar, such an big gap between the hood and cab?
Bennyg Posted October 2, 2012 Posted October 2, 2012 Is this normal for a lonestar, such an big gap between the hood and cab? I think so. Mine has the same gap as well. Ben
skulls Posted October 4, 2012 Posted October 4, 2012 Great job so far on the paint scheme, and you attention to detail is amazing. I always have to give everyone who builds these trucks overseas a little extra credit because of the fact that with most of us on the board here from Canada/US we really dont have far to go to see a 1:1 referance on most builds or at least something close, where over there in the Netherlands for example I dont think it too common to see seeing a 379 peterbilt running up and down the road there, or a western star etc. So they have to work a little bit harder and get a little more creative, and for that I give you that extra bit of well deserved credit. Great build so far and I cant wait to see the final product! James
griffin Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 (edited) Thanks James for your nice words. Finally it's finished. The last pieces were the hardest to get clean and straight on the truck. But i must say it is by far the best kit i've ever built and i really hope Moebius brings out many more. As you can see on the decals next thing is the Revell Beall tanker. Gr.
