I never liked the looks of this kit (originally released as the Barnabas Collins van) but I bought one for the neat parts that come with it. One night I started looking at it and thinking "if I sawed it up here and there..." but by then I had already used the chassis for another build. I managed to pick up another one (missing parts) at a show to get the chassis and out came the razor saw. You can see I miscalculated a bit on the chassis but it is what it is. The engine and wheels were left over from the '41 Chevy pickup.

Ah... 'Barney' as in 'Barnabas'. I was thinking of the big purple dinosaur...

Love how that turned out- the changes you made took the original VV from campy to sinister. Bonus points for running a straight six.

I saw this early this morning , or late last night , and just took a quick look . Now after looking closer I really like it alot ! That's the way it should have been built in the first place !

Thanks guys!!!

Oh man, that is killer! I'm gonna get one of these kits now!!!! Love it!!!

Be warned, the kit has a lot of UGLY in the moldings. I was taking the easy way out with a rat rod.

Thank you Doc, your excellent book was the inspiration for this build. I'm slowly making my way high gloss to deep rust.
