Thank you, I managed a 1st place in a group with some pretty nice builds so I guess I did something right. -

Thank you for the kind words everyone! -
After months of slump I finally finished something. I started by chopping up a 1940 cab and bed and adding a scratchbuilt chassis. The engine and suspension parts came from the 1940 street rod kit. I also scratchbuilt the floor, console, bomber seats and beehive filter. I really like how the weld seams came out on the bed and would have done them on the cab as well but I wanted to finish it up in time for a show last weekend so I went with a welded, ground and rusting again look.

Thank you everyone. I'm glad the scallops look right to ya'll. I guess it's just that my test sample was darker and that's how I expected to see the car so they look a little faint to me now. I'll probably get used to them, LOL

That's sweet, the purple works well on this car.

Excellent concept and execution! It looks like it was meant to be.

Done at last! This took far longer than I ever thought it would even though it wound up being a curbside. I badly miscalculated what it would take to channel the body and that's why the engine (and most of the chassis) got left out. It's built from the AMT coupe kit with the roof cut off, lots of filling in and vacuformed side panels for the bonnet. The windshield is scratchbuilt. The paint is HOK snow white with duplicolor aqua scallops. I wish I had made the ghost scallops a little darker but they are supposed to be "ghosts".

That's too amazing to know where to start!

That's a neat little 'Vette. Those graphics are a unique mix of classic (flames) and psychodelic.

31 Nash: way beyond "Rat Fiink" Coupe....."Finished Photos"

That's some great modelbuilding and great photography as well. -
Beautiful! That's not an easy kit to do a quality build of but you've pulled it off nicely.

Sweet! I love the scallops. Did those corrugated hoses come with the kit?

custom paint job

VERY impressive! I wish I could do such work but simple graphics are about the limit of my reach. -
Thank you Lanesteele. I buy most of my anime figure kits from Hobbyfan.com in California or E2046.com in Hong Kong. They're both pretty reliable but beware that pre-orders of older or less popular subjects may take many months as they have a quota before they'll cast a kit. Check out the forum/gallery at E2046. I think Hobbyfan has one also. Here's a link to some figures I posted here recently. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68311&hl=tamaki%26%2339%3Bs

Paper Camino

Neat, it's pretty amazing what you can do with paper. -
This is my meager output so far this year, no car yet but there are a couple of hot rods scattered around my bench right now. Aya Hasebe, I like cutting little strips of tape. I printed the patterns for the leaves and punched them out with a punch from Michaels. Koringotan, a mischievous young lady with no fashion sense. Lavochkin La-5n, a 1/72 scale headache
