Thanks guys!!! Be warned, the kit has a lot of UGLY in the moldings. I was taking the easy way out with a rat rod.
-
Thank you for the kind words everyone. I'm glad you like the new configuration.

I never liked the looks of this kit (originally released as the Barnabas Collins van) but I bought one for the neat parts that come with it. One night I started looking at it and thinking "if I sawed it up here and there..." but by then I had already used the chassis for another build. I managed to pick up another one (missing parts) at a show to get the chassis and out came the razor saw. You can see I miscalculated a bit on the chassis but it is what it is. The engine and wheels were left over from the '41 Chevy pickup.

Beautiful work! That looks like Roscoe's car alright.

That's some great weathering. I love it.

It's brilliant!!!

Looks like the crossover to "scale civilian life" was a smooth one for you. I learned lesson #5 ages ago, now if only I could abide by it.

Beautiful work on the Impala. I've built the AMT and the Revell and they're both decent kits.
-
Cool, I like the custom trim work.
-
Wow! Great color combo and detailing.

Nice job, I love the teal. I don't see the runs in the clear from here. My problem with the 2-part is not so much "runs" but the way it seems to swell up at the edges of the hood, etc.

This is looking good, I like the pickup bed better than the dump truck or sleeper. -

Thank you Bart. I'm glad folks like the battery box. It seemed like a more practical place than under the floor since I had decided to flip the nose. The seat pattern was actually very easy. I used a piece of natural sponge and lightly dobbed the darker tone on gradually. You can buy small bags of sponge at arts and crafts places like Michaels. I can't wait to see your version of this one. If you haven't caught it yet, watch out for the alignment of the hood. You can see it sitting low on the driver side in the box photo and it also seems to sit over to the right. I never got it lined up just right and I have to fiddle with it every time I close it just to get a good compromise. -

Thank you everyone, I'm glad you like it. -
I finally finished this one up just this morning. I bit off a little more than I really wanted to chew with it but underneath it's numerous flaws it was a learning experience. I think almost everything about it was modified, scratchbuilt or replaced. I was really happy with how the colors went together and the graphics & pinstriping worked out. Thanks for looking. Here's the wip http://www.modelcars...topic=60176&hl= oops! just realized I'm in wrong forum. If anyone could move it for me I'd be grateful.

Beautiful! The chop is perfect.

Really incredible work. I love the cargo crammed inside, it looks so real.
-
Amazing! I love the color.

That's cool, I love the pipes.
-
Very nice! That's an example of "simply elegant".
-
I love the way this is looking. I'm on my first try at cutting doors out myself and I've struggled. You look like you've mastered it.

This is looking great. I really like the piping, scallops and redord player.
