Also, a restored wood-composite WWII deHavilland Mosquito flies again in New Zealand. The fuselage was built up of mostly birch veneer laminated over end-grain balsa cores, the forerunner of modern petrochemical-based and glass and carbon fiber structures.

Where I live, I don't think I've ever heard that in my life. You ought to read how Lewis and Clark described them. :lol: :lol: :lol:

Yeah, they aren't exactly loved here either but I do have a soft spot for the plywood variety.
