crazyrichard Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) hi all , i'm new here and already introduced myself in the general chat section this is my 1932 ford 5-window coupe build from revel > i build this one when i just started plastic modelkits i know this is the finished area but maybe it nice to show a little history on how this ford coupe started and ended up the diorama in the pics is something i currently building i will make a topic of that in the diorama section i build the ford a while ago but used it as reference in the diorama and some of the best pics are made there chopped the roof that ended up like this > Edited October 13, 2012 by crazyrichard
crazyrichard Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) some things bothered me like the ugly sort of scoop i made in front of the window , the grille was not really nice ...and some other stuff. recently i got really interested in weathering and i desided to redo some of my old models .. the thing is i painted it with some sort of aluminium zink spray witch when you sand it it almost looks like bare metal like on the roof that starts to look like bare metal since i recently bought some filled partsboxes from a guy who stopped with his hobby i had loads of choices and desided to add a blower then highlighted the body with some silver and painted the new engine parts then chopped up a front grille and shortened that and made a sun visor Edited October 13, 2012 by crazyrichard
crazyrichard Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) this was the end result > and weathered the engine a bit Edited October 13, 2012 by crazyrichard

crazyrichard Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Thats a cool dio and the rat is very cool .Do you know what the paint was called that you painted the rat in? Doobie thnx the grey of the coupe or the rusted pick-up ? (building the pick up atm) the grey on the coupe was aluminium spray and the pick up pant is done with a hand brush and acrylic paints , made mixtures and added some saw dust on the body to resemble rust texture
cobraman Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Paint looks great. It kind of looks like a sanded die cast. Very well done.
crazyrichard Posted October 13, 2012 Author Posted October 13, 2012 Paint looks great. It kind of looks like a sanded die cast. Very well done. actually you are spot on when you sand it thats what it looks like even the scratches you can make in it is like a die-cast when you sand it actually what you do is you spray a coat of alunimium on the body , it looks like silver metallic paint and when clear coated its fine and nothing happens to it. when you dont clear it and rub it with a cloth it already turns more to metal and when you sand it ... such cool stuff but its available in difefrent versions i used to get it from work ( ) but then they got a different brand and thats completly different and turn into real matt grey ..
Grumpa Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Awesome looking '32 Richard. the upgrades that you made look great, and the color is fantastic. Nice build!
JasonFL Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Man, now that is one bad looking 32 Richard. Love the upgrades, you nailed it. Gave me a lot of inspiration for my 32. I would love to see some more photos, maybe some of the new grill you modded up and the interior. Great looking rod, nice build.

JasonFL Posted October 14, 2012 Posted October 14, 2012 Nice interior, clean. Is that the same dashboard that came in the kit? The grill looks good as well, nice a snub.
crazyrichard Posted October 14, 2012 Author Posted October 14, 2012 Nice interior, clean. Is that the same dashboard that came in the kit? The grill looks good as well, nice a snub. if i'm correct i i could choose between 2 dashboards , not sure but i believe this was one from the kit .. i put some more pics on , i had o do it in stages i was almost done 3 times and my screen went black , then off course lost all my text and pics i wanted to post almost suspect something weird on the photobucket host site because now its fine and when i was on there it went weird , so gonna do a scan right now

I tried uploading a bunch of pics the other night about 10 times and it just wouldn't let me. I almost threw my iPad across the room...lol. Sometimes if I have a lot of photos to load on this site I'll type up everything and paste the links to the photos in my notepad app then just copy everything right into my post all in one shot. That way I don't have to worry about it losing everything cause it's happened, more then once and it really blows. I'll have to check my kit, I knew there was 2 but I didn't remember seeing that dashboard. I'm glad you were finally ale to get the photos up cause that grill is really cool, I love that bare metal look with the weathering. Welcome to the site by the way, I can't wait to see what else your building.
crazyrichard Posted October 15, 2012 Author Posted October 15, 2012 (edited) thnx all !!!!! and @ jason >> turned out it wasnt photobucket , but i tried a setting change (sllep mode off) and i still have not had it again (fingers crossed) btw i always used imageschack but i;m at my max there , atm i use facebook as host and i must say it works awsome !!!!! and thnx abut the grille , glad it worked since im still kinda new to the weathering stuff ... and atm im doing the 1929 roadster coupe rebuild , then the 40's pick up also gonna clean that up a bit and change some stuff and then start some fresh kits ooh and continue the garage diorama , nice to be busy Edited October 15, 2012 by crazyrichard
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 Seriously way-cool bare-metal finish. Love the whole thing.
