phil55 Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 can anyone suggest someone that will do nice custom decals???....they all seem to be disappearing lately~ phil
Ramcharger Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Red Pegasus is really good. He has a website I can't recall the address, so you'll have to Google him. He did my 61 & 62 Ramchargers decals.
matthijsgrit Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Try Shawn Lewis of Buffalo Road Imports @ constructionscalemodels.com He did some really nice decals for me recently.
raildogg Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 (edited) I sent that Redpegasus an email over a week ago and I have as yet to hear back. It was asking what format he needed for a quote on original artwork. You know, because I think we, as modelers, need some of these services more often, you'd think there would be more availible. I did a Google search for same and suprisingly, there are really not that many. I wish that modelers, as a group, could get some of these type services going, for modelers by modelers. I wish I could to do it myself, but I'm retired and funds are really tight. This economy is tough on us of age, but I digress. What I fantisize about are, decal, photo etching, chroming and realy good wheels and tires, services that are cheap and well made, without the spectre of coporate profit mentalities. I think this is getting away from me and turning into a RANT so I"ll stop. I hope you all get the real intent of where I was going!. Edited November 20, 2012 by raildogg
azers Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I agree. I make every attempt to support our aftermarket to make their efforts worthwile.
Alan Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 Do you have what you want, drawn out and scaled on an art program ? If so which one ?
raildogg Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I think so. My originals are made in AutoCAD 2000 can be either dxf. or dwg. or even stl. file extentions. Is this considered artwork program ?
Alan Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 For me to do it, it would need to be a Paint Shop Pro or pref an Art Illustrator file ... Alan
Alan Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 Can you show me pics of what you are trying to print
raildogg Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 Thanks but I din't have those softwares. I have a copy of Phot Shop 2007 but never learned how to use it. I guess I'll have to use my inkjet printer and make'em myself.
Alan Posted November 24, 2012 Posted November 24, 2012 The thing is, that works fine if you are going to use them on something white, any other color and the decals will not work unless you have a white layer under them. Alan
69NovaYenko Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 (edited) Is there still anyone out there that will print up a couple of custom water slide decals. I already have the artwork in hand it just needs to be sized (1/25 scale) and printed on water slide film. Thanks for any suggestions in advance. Edited April 6, 2013 by 69NovaYenko
slusher Posted April 6, 2013 Posted April 6, 2013 There is a guy on ebay called firebird design that sells and makes custom decals.
69NovaYenko Posted April 7, 2013 Posted April 7, 2013 Ahem; see the link in my signature. We will be contacting you next week...Thanks!!!
nitro_force_fan Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Does anyone hear does custom decal work? Theres a 65 AWB Chevelle that runs at our track and I would like to build this car. Heres a few pics of it. .Joe Ok I found somere pics of this car. Anyone interested in trying to make some for me?
Tom Geiger Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 Joseph, this looks like a cool project. In order to get decals, you will need to take some good straight shots of each panel that you want to recreate. That would be a photo of the door, the quarter and the trunk lid. Once you have that, it becomes scaleable and someone can trace it for artwork.
Ramcharger Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Try Red Pegasus Decals, he does mostly aircraft but he has done car stuff for me. Here's a link Red Pegasus.
nitro_force_fan Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Wouldn't even know where to begin.........lol
