wheaton79chris Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Hello I'm new to this site. I would like to make some friends and learn some new techniques to build. I'm on a really limited budget and just getting back to the hobby so I noticed this site and think a lot of the models on here are really really nice. Any tips would be appreciated
Big Daddy Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Welcome lots of good people with good tips here
Art Anderson Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Just ask the question (whatever that might be) and more than likely you will get more answers than you can shake a stick at! Welcome to the fun! Art
Patrick2005 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Welcome to the party! Any friend of the forum is a friend of mine!
wheaton79chris Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Thank you guys. Wanting to learn stuff like how to wire and plumb engines and detail chassis and gauges. Just remember severely limited budgetWish I had a way to upload photos too
cobraman Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 You will love it here. There is a wealth of info and some of the best builders post on here ( I am not one of them : ). Post a question in the correct place and you will get several answers normally. I found the best thing about this forum is that I believe the folks here really do want to help you. They are more than willing to share their secrets with you. All you have to do is ask.
DumpyDan Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Welcome, this is a great place to hang out often, always something new going on. And the people are really helpful.
lanesteele240 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 welcome new guy. you have stumbled apon the best model fourm in english (cant read the ones not).
Scuderia Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Welcome, and a tip for getting back in: Start slow, and pick a car you CARE about. That way you're more-inclined to see it thru. And don't be afraid to start off with a snapper to get the hang of things again. Often there are snap kits of subjects that are 'cool' and won't break the bank. Enjoy!
wheaton79chris Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Scuderia I am currently starting on the AMT 66 nova pro street that I picked up at hobby lobby. Glue I'm use to doing just been away a long time. Its stuff like wiring and plumbing I would like to learn like I said earlier. My usual builds use to be NASCAR but till I can get my hands on a few decent ones I will take what's available.
jamesG Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 welcome chris. you'll find lots of great tips here that are budget friendly. just keep in mind that a lot of the materials for things like wiring and plumbing will last for several builds.
Harry P. Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Wish I had a way to upload photos too Everyone can upload photos. You can either attach photos to your posts directly from your computer or you can get a photo hosting site account (Photobucket os free), "park" your photos there and then post them here. If you are able to acces this site, as you obviously can, then you can upload photos.
wheaton79chris Posted November 10, 2012 Author Posted November 10, 2012 To Harry, I tried to pull up photobucket on my phone and only got a blank screen. Hope to be getting a new computer soon. Is it possible to pull them from my email account
lonebear43 Posted November 10, 2012 Posted November 10, 2012 Welcome to the site, you'll get a ton of build ideas, only problem finding the time
