Randy Kern Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 A Revell kit of an '85 Ferrari GTO built out of the box, with only paint detailing. Finish is Dupli-Color Ice Blue, and I used Model Master Pontiac Engine Blue in the interior. I also went with slightly larger tires in the rear.
MonoPed Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Nice work!! is the RoG kit a re-pop of the Italeri kit?
Randy Kern Posted August 25, 2007 Author Posted August 25, 2007 Not sure about that, Brian. It is a well detailed kit with the motor. I got it a while back from my favorite supplier at a discount $12.00!
MrObsessive Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 WOW! I like the color on that GTO!! Gorgeous build on one of Ferrari's best styling of that era! That blue is a definite plus other than the standard red on Ferrari's. Your stance is perfect too Randy! Don't forget to bring that to the meeting next weekend 'kay?
Zoom Zoom Posted August 25, 2007 Posted August 25, 2007 Wow, that color is awesome on that! I have a 308 painted in a similar color. I believe Ismael does as well. Wait 'til he sees this too! Looks almost like "Grigio Alloy" that debuted on the 360 Modena. That's the old Italeri kit, not bad at all for a start, just adjust the wheel location/ride height and it's a nice model, as we can certainly see. The Fujimi kit is a labor of love, it's got about 3,876,592.25 parts, 80% of which need lots of TLC like mold line removal and filling of sink marks on parts you'll never see once assembled
novadose71 Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 Would that Fujimi be skill level 19,398.7? I agree about the color, looks great. Mine's red, and I don't even like red, and now I really wish I would have adjusted my stance, it sure doesn't sit as nice as yours out of the box.
VW Dave Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 The 288 GTO has long been one of my favorite Ferraris style-wise; it just looks tougher than any other IMO. Very-very nice job on the build, and that color is a heckuva fresh approach.
Mike Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 I love this era Ferrari. Great looking and clean build.
cruz Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 That is perfect Randy, the color chosen is beautiful also including the interior, very cool as always.....
ismaelg Posted August 26, 2007 Posted August 26, 2007 WOW! Quick! Somebody get me a towel! I'm drooling all over the keyboard Gorgeous build of one of my all time favorite cars in one of my all time favorite shades of my all time favorite car color Like Bob said It looks like Grigio Alloy. I did a 308 in Cobra Colors Azzurro California Metallic I have this 288 GTO kit in the pipeline. I hope to work on it soon. Great job Randy! Thanks,
