Trucker Al Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I stopped by one of my LHS's today and found these poor orphans from a collection begging to be brought home. One F350 is a parts kit (no frame) and the other is (well, was ) sealed, and had a price tag of $10 for the sealed ones. The Chevy is complete except for having different wheels and tires than the stock dually wheels that were originally in the kit. Also, notice I said "sealed ONES" for the F350s, there are two more sealed F350s and one more Chevy, plus a complete CHP marked AMT Ford Taurus SHO patrol car and a complete MPC/AMT Chevy Beretta GT sitting in the back room of the hobby shop for me to pick up next week! I am in desperate need of one f-350! Sealed and complete Alex
DumpyDan Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I got a new Grandson 8 lbs 11 oz, Bentley Justin Dankmeyer. Good strong name, I am so happy.
ToyLvr Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 an 8lb 6oz grandson last night!!!! been a fabulous last few days Congrats, Old Grandpappy! (from one old grandpa to another). Looks like we'll have another modeler coming along in the next few years....
ChrisBcritter Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 Eduard #00108 "2x4" mesh, near-perfect match for the '60 Chrysler Windsor grille; made in the Czech Republic and shipped from Australia. Am I correct to assume 2x4 is what it would measure in 1/35? At least if this stuff is meant for armor...?
jrherald420 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I think it means its 2 inches by 4 inches.
ChrisBcritter Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 That's what I figured, 2" x 4" in 1/35 scale?
jrherald420 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 More than likely 1/35 scale. I bought several things from a fellow club member that is made by this company. Lots of usable stuff.
highway Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I am in desperate need of one f-350! Sealed and complete Alex Sorry but I can't help you out, Alex. I jumped on these for the price because I need donors for a wrecker fleet, and it also doesn't help I bleed Ford blue and have a 1:1 of this almost exact (standard cab 4x4 diesel) truck. About the only thing that would make me consider possibly parting with one would be a Meng F350 to rob the diesel from for my in progress model of my 1:1.
blackandwhite Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 grabbed an 18'' under cabinet light to mount to the top of my paint booth with a 4100K bulb. Sure does brighten things up in there!

I'm gonna guess that the 2x4 is the measurement of the piece only, nothing related to it's size in 1/35th scale.
GeeBee Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Bought this, and then discovered I'd already got one in the stash, IMAG0113.jpg So it will probably be started once the Beetle is finished. I've also got a couple of the 601 saloon versions in the stash, I've tried in vain to get hold of some Trabant matched paint in the U.K without success, found a place in Germany who would courier me the paint over, so I've ordered one of Champagne and one of Capri green 0_440-1.jpg 0_440.jpg Well I really shouldn't order items online when I'm a little tired, and my German isn't as good as I thought it was, well I did stop working for VW back in 1994, turned out I'd ordered 2 tins of the champagne, which came a few days ago, so I had no choice but to put in another order, luckily I wasn't tired and made sure all was correct before hitting the order button, as the shipping was the same for two cans as it would have been for one, I ordered on in Capri Green and a can of Glacier blue I've probably got enough paint to paint a full size Trabant now .....

NY and NJ police decals.JPG San Antonio police decals.JPG Blue was common , I do not recall right this moment what shade it is.
Agent G Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 Blue, tan and black were the only options for those particular model years depicted by the kit, 1991 and 1992. Tamiya sprays in Navy Blue, Aircraft Tan and Black will suffice quite well. Dash and door panels were vinyl, front seats were cloth where your bum and back were and the rest was vinyl. Back seat was all vinyl. G

MyBradKeselowski Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 (edited) Hey Geoff, To help you out a little the Dallas Police Caprice's were white with blue interior's. I do recall them with the tan interior's but those were mostly on the 89-90 Caprices that were used here. The 91-95 Caprices that Dallas used had either the blue or black interiors. The interior color kind of depended on what DPD had ordered on the Caprices from the GM plant in Arlington. I do remember a few of the later 90's Caprices having tan interiors but not many. Hope this helps you a little. Edited October 25, 2014 by MyBradKeselowski

NY and NJ police decals.JPG San Antonio police decals.JPG http://public.fotki.com/modelcitizen/11_car_reference_library/light_commercial/caprice-nj-state-tr/ Geoff- Here's a few photos I shot back in the days of film. My neighbor was a NJ State Trooper. I didn't get the interior but I believe they were all bright blue. You may get lucky at the US eBayMotors site, if you check for Caprice police cars. Sooner or later someone will have a good photo spread of the interior. I have a decal sheet for the NJ Trooper car, but mine has more of the details. Note the round logo on the rear of the 1:1 car. That means it was assigned to the Garden State Parkway. The plates on those started HA for Highway Authority. The cars assigned to the NJ Turnpike had plates that started TP. And there were other plates for the troopers who had other duties, including being the local police for small towns in south Jersey that didn't have their own.
