Railfreak78 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Well I guess it's a really good thing that we now have an "Other" section cause my free model fairy stopped by again and left me this.... I loved this show and had no clue there were kits from it.
cazxr2 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Sucks for him ,super for you . hes quiting as he hasnt the time as he has a 2 year old running around. But he really sold up as he wanted another xbox 360 to get cod. Thats the real reason hes selling up. So yeah GOOD for me. And him too as he can buy another xbox now. HAHA
Jon Cole Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 Finally bought the Black Widow this week. Maybe the third kit I have bought all year.
ffreak Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 I finally got me a Hemi Dart kit this week. Aside from the few inacuracies of it, I love it. Also got me some Tamiya clear for stock and a new sanding stick.
RodneyBad Posted November 6, 2010 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) Went to a model swap meet today and brought home a few things. Thought these would make good engine donors or open for trades? Gotta love Rally cars (open for trades) My big ticket item for the day was the 73 Dodge (keeper) Inside the 73 Dodge box Plus 2 long beds Scratch built Emergency 1 Utility box The wheels I also picked up and just threw them under it for pics. And some parts kits Edited November 6, 2010 by Zukiholic
Roadkill2525 Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Original issue BRE 240Z and Tuner Series 510
Bernard Kron Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I just got this in from Ed Fluck at Drag City Casting. Beatifully made and flawlessly cast with zero flash or air holes and it all fits perfectly on the donor kits! Ed has an amzing array of bodies and parts, many of which are quite unique and useful, especially if your into rods and customs. Here's a link to his Fotki: http://public.fotki....-city-casting-/ Chopped '37 Chevy: Chopped '34 Ford Five Window and Chopped '34 Ford Pickup Cab Luuvered Deck Lid and Louvered Hood for Revell '32 Fords & Filled Front Wheel Well Panels for AMT '34 Fords
niteowl7710 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 The B-M Chevelle I got with my 50% Mikey's coupon, the other stuff is my haul from the Olde Potbelly Gang's show in Pittsburgh today. Last local show till March 2011, I am now appropriately stocked up.
jbwelda Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 even though i had to lay out > 30 bones, i think i got a great deal on these old revell parts packs. there was one in pretty nice box (roadster chassis speed equipment) plus at least one of the same without box, plus major parts of the roadster frame etc. this is some very cool and detailed fiddly bits. plus two chrome parachutes! not sure why you would want chrome parachutes but there you have it...twice!
modeler Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 got a 78 trans am ans a 53 ford pick up gor three dollers each got to love the goodwill
Greg Cullinan Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 You guys have some cool stuff.. the Datsun 510,Ed Fluck Ford,Galaxie Chevy and so on.
Adam144 Posted November 8, 2010 Posted November 8, 2010 I'm jealous of the 510 Datsun and the 240Z (but I own a 1:1 modified 260Z). Recent scores: Got the 49 Merc and a 79 Camaro 3 'n 1:
Rob Z Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Picked up the S&M GTX, Christine and the JoHan 75' Cutlass at a show yesterday and the rest were sitting waiting for me when I got home from work today... All in all I think it was a REALLY GOOD weekend...
cobra98 Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Stuff from the past 2 weeks & a couple of re-builders
Nick Winter Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Nice score Nick & Happy Birthday Thanks When I look at the instruction sheet of the vette, I found it's as old as me except I think i'm worth more than $6
cobra98 Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Thanks When I look at the instruction sheet of the vette, I found it's as old as me except I think i'm worth more than $6 Yeah, could get at least $9.99 for ya

I often thought that the chrome finish drag chute packs were meant to mimic the flame retardant material used on the driver's flame suits. Love those old Revell Parts Packs...just acquired the Dream Car Turbine Engine & Dream Car Bumpers & Grilles myself.
davyou5 Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 My very first Tamiya Kit! Hurray! I have heard so much about these kits, I am excited to get my first one .
jbwelda Posted November 14, 2010 Posted November 14, 2010 >I often thought that the chrome finish drag chute packs were meant to mimic the flame retardant material >used on the driver's flame suits. by golly i think you hit that nail on the head! that thought never crossed my mind but now that you bring it up, a little dullcoat and indeed: flameproof material! here i thought the best you could get out of it was to paint around the buckle for the pack and leave it (the buckle) chrome!
