Oh BTW I played with the tires you and Marty are talking about trading. You almost didn't get them It's a Ford in a Ford box. Works good for me. I've managed to go from Zero TopKicks to a couple perty quick lately. Swapmeets and GoodWills. Too bad DG Toys went out of business. they had some great looking work rigs.(tires suck tho) The newer Dodge is a Diecast, Lil worst for wear but I picked up a Premo one at a goodwill store of all places. a few pics of a good one is about half way down the page. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14390&st=60 The PayStar is a nice kit, don't know what I'll do with the rest of it tho. Motor already found a new home.
David G. Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Last week I captured a Chrysler Turbine Car kit from the wilds of eBay for less than $30, shipping included. Yesterday, it came in the mail! From what little I know about vintage model kits, this one seems to be one of the early 60's releases. This means that the kit is about as old as I am! No UPC Barcode on the box. There's also no copyright date on the directions. Everything seems to be here. The only damage I could find was a broken steering wheel. The steering column and wheel are there, but only a few bits of the broken spokes remain. Aside from a bit of flash, this is the worst molding flaw I could find. There is a ton of documentation on this car, so build research will be fun and easy. I think I'll be shopping for paint this afternoon!
High octane Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Not today, but yesterday on the way to the Milwaukee NNL I stopped at the Model Empire in West Allis and picked up another Double T kit, a Model Car Garage Track Nose, and some Model Wax. Maybe I'll start on the T kit today or tomorrow???
Railfreak78 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 So this is not models but I got this as part payment for some electrical work I did last night. I normally do not do it anymore due to I was an electricial for over 10 years and I'm burnt out. I took the job to make some money to buy models and on top of the money he threw in this and said he has 2 vintage kits that he does not know what they are and he will dig them out and give them to me. Not bad for 2 hours work adding a couple plugs and some panel work.

Nick Winter Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I got a 2 cans of primer- 1 grey, 1 white, and a can of flat black, and I got a chance to look at a truck my Dad's been thinking of buying. ('05 GMC Sierra SLE, black interior black exterior, fully loaded, Z71 offroad option, Vortec v8, 120,XXX KMS, E tested and certified, $15,856, my dad knows the owner of the car lot and can get it for $15,000. The trucks real value according to Kelley's blue book is $16,125
lordairgtar Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I got a 41 Plymouth (Coke version) and a prepainted AMT Edsel.
crazyjim Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Seems high for an '05 Nick. Down here dealers are almost giving vehicles away. Low prices and 0% financing for 72 months. Dad could probably get brand new for a better price than used. Good luck either way. Off the computer to go make dinner (grilled chicken, rice, green beans, salad) now. Eat, clean up, and go for 1.5 mile walk. Be back in the morning. Hope everyone has a great evening.

JamesW Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Helped a buddy of mine and his wife move this weekend. Got this as payment.
Roadkill2525 Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Bought the 1:72 helicopters to go with my Gundam kits, my dad got me the 1:43 928, and I won the #22 Ford T-Bird in a raffle Won Best Under Construction for my Levin
Greg Cullinan Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 One of the Caddies is from Lynn(turtlerancher),The other three Caddies are from Gasoline Alley, and the Rescue Ambulance is from Ebay.
Ken Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 So this is not models but I got this as part payment for some electrical work I did last night. SWEET!!!! I had one of these as a kid. I believe that my parents still have the 'stick shift' part. As I remember, it was great for launching cars off the top of the stairs. If you got a good whack at it, sometimes, with the right car you could get it to go clear across to the other side of the upstairs balcony! All I got this week was a can of citrus yellow testors, some K&S music wire(on clearance for .49$ a pack) and the contest issue of MCM!
Jared Roach Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Trucks up here aren't cheap, $2000 for a rusty old '87 is a good price. I think SOME trucks are WAY over priced, others not so much. Yea I agree, had my sonoma in for a free oil change and gm wants 30,000 for 2010 base, w/t silverado with NO options! Go down the road to the local dodge dealership, 26,000 for a quad cab 4x4 ram. I am a gm guy at heart, but let me tell ya If I was in the market for a new full size truck, the dodge would be the one I'd be buying. As long as it's not an ugly new ford or jap stuff I'm fine with it, I'm just fine with my domestic stuff, and older fords that looked good when new and still do.
crazyjim Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 If you want to buy a FORD (Found On Road Dead, Fix Or Repair Daily, F... Over Rebuilt Dodge - NOT First On Race Day)) wait until the 2013 F150 comes out. Pictures of that thing are awesome. I trded my 2003 Ford Ranger Edge for a 2010 Nissan Frontier a few months ago. The Frontier is an extremely nice truck - especially compared to the Ford cheap piece of garbage.

Yeah then there's some under priced, like my Truck $500, I was more than happy. Guess what I got, Some parts from a trade and wait for it, blisters.
Nick Winter Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 online pricing for a no option 2010 Chevrolet 1500 W/T starts at $20k for a 2wd and $24k for a 4wd. i got some nice resin cast disc brakes from Marc Nellis in the mail today, no sign of Nick's package yet. Dave Dave I sent it, I don't know why it hasn't arrived yet.
Nick Winter Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 with the notoriety of the Canadian Post, we'll just blame it on them for now Dave Yeah with how long they take I should have walked it down
High octane Posted April 13, 2010 Posted April 13, 2010 What is Model Wax? What do you use it for? Railfreak78, Model Wax is made by The Treatment and is a wax for waxing your model cars. Donn Yost recommends the product in his DVD's. What is Model Wax? What do you use it for? Railfreak78, Model Wax is made by The Treatment and is a wax for waxing your model cars.
