Varol Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Thanks for all the comments, the project is over now .
Modellpularn Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Cool conversion. I must also say the dash looks great! I'm just puzzled that the taximeter sits outside!!!??? I work as a taxi driver in Stockholm, and as far back as I can remember, the meter has always been inside the cars.

Korkut, So glad to see your post here. It's been 7 or 8 years since the last time I was in Ankara. Deniz said to say hi. How is your lovely wife and daughter? Take care, Ken I have the same surname with Korkut but i'm not him His website is www.korkutvarol.com, it may help. Very nice! Thank you.
Gluhead Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 I too thought I was looking at the work of Korkut until I got to the end. It just had that Korkut feel. 'Tis a very nicely done cab, Sait...very nice indeed.
Tom Geiger Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I don't remember meters in the taxi cabs in Izmir. This was 1966-68 and I remember we paid an iki bucuk to ride anywhere we wanted in a horse carriage and double that for a taxi. Great model! I enjoyed watching the build.
Modellpularn Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Stunning. What's the source of the meter? Did you scratchbuild that, or is it available somewhere? Great work on the meter! It looks very similar to the ones used in swedish taxicabs in the 60's and 70's.
Tom Geiger Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 Here's a photo of a Turkish Dolmus taxi that reminds me of the era I lived in Izmir! I knew I had it somewhere in my files.
Alyn Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Great looking car, and just different enough to really stand out. Your camera skills do a good job of showing off the high quality finish and chrome details too. Very nice
