bzak Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Howdy, First time posting here. I usually build airplanes, but occasionally will break up the creative logjam with something automotive. This is the 1/25 AMT model T. I intended to build the stock closed cab version, but didn't like the way the interior fit inside the body. So, I built a farm truck using Balsa strips and coffee stir sticks (thanks Starbucks!). Weathered the wooden bed with diluted inks. Enjoy! Brian Riedel
Tom Geiger Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Very nicely done! I love the old workman modified trucks. It's so Americana
Sixties Sam Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Very cool truck! I like the wooden seat built around the stock cushion. Great weathering - looks like it had a hard life on the farm! Sam
bbowser Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Nice model. I'll bet weathering techniques from aircraft help a lot when you're slumming on an auto.
rustybill1960 Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I for one am very glad your "logjam" worked out to our benifit Man! That is one clever little build! Thank You for sharing with Us Later Russ
outlaw035 Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 i really like the truck body....think the wood could use more weathering...just a thought...welcome to the board....
Harry P. Posted January 12, 2013 Posted January 12, 2013 Nicely done! And good to see that you're getting more "bang for your buck" from Starbucks than their average customer!
cavemanx Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 i really like the truck body....think the wood could use more weathering...just a thought...welcome to the board.... Maybe he just replaced the wood after all those years of rotting
bzak Posted January 16, 2013 Author Posted January 16, 2013 Howdy, Thanks for all the kind comments. The wood actually looks better in person, the photos seemed to brighten it up a bit. Brian
rmvw guy Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Great old tool kit but, I love what you have done with it.
