High octane Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Real nice lookin' build on that Duster. What color blue did you use? Thanks.
Bruno Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 (edited) Well, looking at the reference pics I got of the real car, the blue on top is the same, or close to the blue on the sides. So I custom mixed blue paint to match the blue on the decals. The blue is actually darker than it looks on those pics. Edited January 19, 2013 by Bruno
Casey Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Nice job on the two-tone paint break, Bruno. I chickened out on the C-pillar area when I built the 1/16 scale version, but it looks like you got it just right. You've have a nice, clean box stock build.
W-409 Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Very Nice Demon FC! I like the paint a lot, decals look great too. Fine job with wiring the engine, too. Those wheels got my attention-what did you use to paint them? The shade of Silver/Grey is just perfect.
Bruno Posted January 19, 2013 Author Posted January 19, 2013 Those wheels got my attention-what did you use to paint them? The shade of Silver/Grey is just perfect. Just a few light coats of Testors dullcoat sprayed on the chrome
AZ Boy Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 Very nice buildup, Bruno! Is this the 1/16th version? Very good detailing and paint.
Harry P. Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Nice job! I like '70s-era funny cars... when the bodies still looked more or less like the "real car." Not a fan of what the funny car has evolved into... sort of like the current NASCAR cars... they all look alike and nothing like a "real" car anymore. But I like those '70s-era ones! Very nice job, Bruno.
Bruno Posted January 20, 2013 Author Posted January 20, 2013 Thanks everyone! Very nice buildup, Bruno! Is this the 1/16th version? Very good detailing and paint. This is the 1/25 version.
slusher Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 Good looking build, nice paint and detail, and decal work...
bogger44 Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 (edited) Awesome work on the Demon, Bruno. Excellent paint and detailing. I've done the dullcoat sprayed on chrome trick numerous times as well, it works great. Edited January 22, 2013 by bogger44

acmiaz Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Really nice job. I forgot how cool vintage funny cars were.
Hayabusa Posted January 25, 2013 Posted January 25, 2013 Great model! I like the vintage F/C´s and this is a really nice & clean build.
